So we've been shopping at this place for years now. Apart from experiencing rude behavior from the cashiers. So today as my husband and I were checking out, the cashier asked if we liked Indian food. And we both replied, yes of course we do. Another cashier lady, who was on the other side said "but you(meaning Pakistani's) don't like us(Indians)" and laughed. Sorry, but I don't find that funny at all. To that my husband replied to her, there are good and bad people in every religion/culture especially creating these political issues and spreading false rumors but we don't hate anyone. I didn't hear that lady's response at first, my husband told me in the parking lot that he couldn't believe she would say something like that to a customer. I was so angry and I said to him I want to go back inside and tell her that believe me we Pakistani's feel the same that Indians hate us but the only difference is I would never say something like this to anyone especially a customer when I don't even know them. But he said it's not worth it let them think whatever they want to think. I don't know how she figured out that we are Pakistani, may be 1) because we were speaking in Urdu, 2) I had a scarf around my neck, 3) I have a necklace that says Allah on it. But believe me it wasn't a misunderstanding, she knew what she was talking about. Why would we shop there for so many years if we had hate for anyone, it's common sense. Please tell your cashiers to treat EVERYONE with kindness and respect. Very...
Read moreWhy do we have to leave at least one star... I went shopping at Patel Brothers in Shrewsbury Today, I couldn't believe how much it was today when the lady at the register told me the amount., so when I got home I weighed my vegetables and I found that the veggies that were charged by the Pound weighed less than what I was charged, and some vegetables that were supposed to be by the pound were charged by unity. Not to mention that I was charged $1.99 per lb. for Bananas, NOT any special Bananas or organic, simple, regular bananas, I would be crazy to buy Bananas at $1.99 per pound. and $5.99 for peaches. Everything that had a sign per unity was charged by the Pound . And the Lady at the register was Rude , throwing everything in the paper bags like if i was less than her. My experience there was Horrible. Not coming back in there anymore. If i have to pay a Dollar for each small green pepper, better buy at the regular grocery store where i pay much less. And the people are nice to customers I was Also charged twice for Garlic. I Advise everyone to check their receipts before leaving the parking lot or the store. That Store used to be Good! Now...
Read moreA decent sized Indian supermarket. . If you’re looking for some fresh Indian/ south Asian vegetables, this is absolutely the place. Coming to the quality of the vegetables, it just okay, it mostly fresh. . They have lots of other Indian food picked , rice , pulses, spices, frozen foods, and a small section of fish, sweets etc. they have their own brand called Swad and and also they have other Indian brands. . Customer service is absolutely mediocre , I think that is like a standard benchmark for an Patel brothers shop( both the ladies in the cash counter and the guys (who are stocking) who don’t speak any english or any Indian language’s at least I know) but hey, you’re just going to get the Indian food produce, not chit chat with them.
