on 5/11 i was at costco.. pulled out my wallet and flashed my card at entrance and haphazardly placed my wallet back in my pocket.. this was around 815p so they were close to closing and i just needed to grab a handful of items.. my husband was in the return line and quickly met with me and we began our shopping.. after completion we headed out and the clock sat at 8:38 so i get accomplished in thinking we didnāt hold them back too long..
once we got home i went to empty my pockets and realized that i no longer had my wallet.. frantic i sped back to costco knowing their gas station attendant would be out til at least 930p.. when i got there he was closing up and had me wait while he finished putting out the cones.. he then used his walkie to contact management to have them check if anyone had turned it in.. he was very polite and helpful and really made a stressful moment as stress less as possible.. unfortunately after 10-15 min i was told that none had been found.. i drive over to where i had parked and looked around just in case and again nothing..
the next morning i woke up early to try and see i could stop by along my way to work.. i thought, i went late enough that it could still have sitting on the floor overnight and maybe one of the opening crew might have come across it.. a worker in front restocking the bread products for the food court said he didnāt have a walkie on him but that āJohnā at the window was one of the managers and would be able to help.. as i approached the window he opened it up and asked what he could do for me.. i explained my situation and and got on his walkie and asked another person inside if they could check lost and found.. i believe it was a lady and that they asked for a few minutes to check a couple different places but was also in a place not too close to it..
after 5-10 min i hear over the walkie the person inside asking if the member was on the phone.. John said āno, heās here at the food courtā so the lady said she would be on her way down..
John walked me to the front gate as it was opening and out came a hand with my wallet..
in times like this itās simple things that really have huge impacts.. the cards were stacked against me.. the wallet was a limited edition LV my sister had given as a christmas gift 2 years ago and also had a decent amount of cash and gift cards inside. the only thing out of place inside was my drivers license for obvious reasons of making sure it was me but everything else was completely intact..
to whomever was the original finder, iām quite sure that you were an employee and i firmly believe that you are a truly the type of character that your company wants representing them.. i canāt thank you enough as the wallet itself was irreplaceable and the insides were just frosting but truly a display of actions that are rarely found in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo irritated by this store! It all started when we went to the Costco in Norwalk. There was a sectional sofa I had been eyeing for a while. When I saw it on sale for $1,000 (down from $1,499!), I wanted to take it home. Unfortunately, it was the floor model that was on sale and they didn't have any more in stock. I didn't want to take the model that too many people have played with. An employee checked which other Costco had it in stock. Well, Lakewood location had 4 sets in stock but at $1,199. Understood, after all, they where not getting rid of their floor model but was still discounted. We had to go the next day to pick up the set because it was almost closing time when we where at the Norwalk location.
Since we had to rent a uHaul to take the set home, I wanted to make sure they still had some in stock. Called to check and they did have them but refused to hold it for us. Ok. So we rented the uHaul, $50, and drove to the Lakewood location. When we get there, the 2 sets they had in stock where missing a piece each. They could not sell it to us. The employee that helped us was apologetic and offered to find a location that had the set in stock. Great news! Signal Hills had several sets. So she called and put them on hold for us. My husband and I agreed to drive over to Signal Hills, it was only a few more miles and we had the uHaul with us anyways. So away we go!
When we get there, my set was in the front waiting to come home with me. So my husband goes to pay for it but they're charging him $1,499. He told the cashier, they where $1,199. Had to get a manager to see if they would "honor" the price. Spoke to lead employee, Martha, who refused to adjust it to the sale price. She said it's at the manager's discretion to put the items on sale and even though Lakewood had it for $1,199 they refuse to do a price adjustment. My husband told her we where referred to their location and even rented a uHaul to take that set home. She said it was not their problem we rented a uHaul and no adjustments will be done. If we want the set, we can pay $1,499. Nope! I will not be paying full price for a set that was on sale in the same chain store.
Returned the uHaul, paid $50 for rental, $15 for additional miles and $20 for gas. Wasted close to $85 for nothing! I will be a proud owner of a sofa set purchased somewhere other than Costco soon. Even though Costco will not miss my purchase, I will be happy not giving...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCostco's tire warranty is proving worthless and their tire center service is horrible. We purchased four new Michelin Premier LTX tires from Costco for our car last June. My wife drove the car out-of-state for a family emergency. A nail embedded in the tire during her drive. I emailed my wife the tire warranty and she took it to the Signal Hill Costco to have it repaired/replaced. The tire center never answered their phone so she was forced to go to the Costco herself to see if they would honor THIER warranty. The tire center told her the tire was unrepairable and would need to be replaced. Supposedly they did not have the tire in stock, though it is listed on Signal Hill Costco's website today. After explaining the family emergency to Costco, the tire center scheduled her for an appointment two days later on Friday to have the tire replaced. When she arrived, Costco's tire center told her they forgot to order the tire and would need to reschedule her appointment for the next week after the weekend.
My brother-in-law died over the weekend. When my wife showed up for the second appointment on Monday, she was again informed by the tire center that the tire had NOT been ordered and it would now be another four business days before it would arrive. They have now rescheduled the tire replacement for the THIRD TIME.
My wife is trapped in Los Angeles. She can't drive home because of the damaged tire and she can't do necessary errands related to the death. We now kick ourselves for not having gone somewhere else to get a new tire. I will spend the remainder of today locating a new tire for our car with the full expectation Costco will have again failed to order the tire for the THIRD appointment that is supposed to be covered under Costco warranty.
Our family is dealing with grief from our loss. We are from out-of-state with a vehicle that has a tire that is damaged and has been leaking for over a week. All of this has been explained to Costco staff who simply don't care. They made her show up for each appointment rather than simply calling her to explain the tire hadn't been ordered. Costco's lack of empathy has made a horrible grief-stricken...
