7/1/23 - 1030am - Signal Hill Home Depot - kids workshop so much better. Plenty of projects for families, much more room and a lot more organized, thereās canopies for everyone no long lines at entrance or getting paint because paint is a separate station then building, all the paint brushes and supplies is laid out, thereās a cleaning station with great hand wipes, thereās free flavored snow cones and raffles for free prizes and toys. In comparison to Lakewood Home Depot, Signal Hill by far is way better.

Update - 12/3/23 - from 5 stars to 2 stars They should organize a better way to let people in until thereās a space that opens up. Itās way too crowded. Make sure every lot has all the tools needed screwdriver, hammer, and glue. Paint area today was a huge bummer. They ran out of foam brushes and put out crayons smh. People leave behind their plates, brushes and trash and donāt clean up after themselves. Also what happened to the raffles and the free treats. Fix all this and youāre perfect in customer service experience.
Update - 3/1/25 - I often come here excited to bring my kids to kids workshop; however, the last few trips have been hard because my son is on the spectrum. So this past Saturday, I thought we would try something different and I wanted to take the workshop project home to allow my son a calmer environment to build. When I asked to take a small amount of paint home as well, the lady who was working incredibly rude and didnāt want provide the accommodation. She kept looking at my son and I wrong, and I felt incredibly judge for having a special needs kid, but she did eventually end up giving us the paint. I hope that Home Depot is an inclusive place. Next when we went into the store I asked for assistance with some of their products I wished to buy, and the lady said she will find someone but the sense of urgency was non existent because she just walked away. There were a few of us standing there waiting 15+ minutes. Iāve worked for Home Depot before and we were a lot more urgent and would have used the intercom to call for the assistance needed. Perhaps they were understaffed, but the whole customer experience was really bad all around at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's unfortunate I have to give this location a 1 star review based on the poor attitude and unprofessionalism of Heidy. I've been to this location several times and it's actually one of my favorite locations however I had a poor rental truck experience. Thanks to Juan for stepping in and making things right however afterwards Heidy was trying to use intimidation tactics by asking her associate what my name was and acting like she was going to put damaging notes under my account.
They made a mistake and wanted to charge me for this error and when I asked for them to review cameras and investigate, they said never mind and that's when Juan stepped in to remove the extra charges Heidy illegally was trying to charge. My contract didn't have a dolly accounted for, so when I returned it, they said a dolly should have been in there and then Heidy in a rude way went online to see the value of the dolly and then tried to charge me for it. Again, I didn't back down and thanks to my contract, it was clear that no dolly was accounted for.
If you decide to rent a vehicle from this location, keep your contract handy and review it before leaving. Review the fuel levels and review the cargo space to see what's accounted for. I'm glad I kept my paperwork because I would've been charged an extra $79. Another tip, make sure they stop the clock as soon as you enter the Home Depot. They will try to charge you extra time for going to check the vehicle and then they take their sweet time walking back and then getting interrupted before actually time stamping when you returned.
Again, I hope to change this review in the near future but for now, it's a 1 star based on the poor attitude, unprofessionalism and unfair practices by Heidy. She must be new because I haven't seen her at this location before, hope she get retrained on customer interaction or they should transfer her to a location that it's okay to be ghetto and unprofessional. Not the Signal Hill location where I've had many great experiences...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTRUST THE REVIEWS! They WILL mess up your order. I ordered something for our remodel, and it shopped in 3 separate boxes. I was warned they will call me when only 1 arrived, and to make sure all 3 arrive. 3 weeks later they called when only 1 arrived. 2 days later the app said everything arrived so I called. I explained to them why I wanted them to be POSITIVE all 3 pieces were there. I sat on hold for 15 minutes while they "went to the back and confirmed all 3 pieces are here". They even mentioned what each piece was to confirm.
I showed up 3 days later, they can't find the 3rd piece that's the most important. They told me I can wait 3 days while they escalate to the manufacturer, but no idea what they'll say after their "investigation". My other option is to cancel and order again, waiting 3-4 weeks for delivery. My contractor was supposed to finish our bathroom remodel tomorrow. Now we will have to go another 3-4 weeks without our shower (only one in our house) and pay the contractor to come out again in a few weeks IF the parts ever show up. At the end the Mgr said she could ask the company that makes the products for a discount...once it arrives.
So now we've had to pay 2x the price (have to wait for processing to get refund), we will have to wait almost 2 months, and they'll "ask" for some discount, even though Home Depot is clearly the one who lost it. Trying to find an alternative so we can cancel everything, but our remodel literally was built out based on the measurements of this, so unless we want to remodel all the newly remodeled stuff, we are SOL and have to just hope Home Depot doesn't...
