I've been working out 5-6 days a week at LSL Fitness for the last seven months. I've never worked with a personal trainer before but I realized that after 36 years of trying on my own, I had no idea what I was doing. I thought that I would go into LSL and have someone show me how to do exercises properly and then I'd be set. But I quickly realized that getting into shape was going to involve me taking a hard look at many other aspects of my life: diet, sleep schedule, health issues, etc. Thankfully Leo, the owner and head trainer, is a great guide and provided me with the tools and motivation to start improving. With Leo's knowledge and the support of fellow dedicated gym-goers, I was able to put on 12 pounds of muscle, my posture has improved, I moved forward with some surgery that I'd been putting off for awhile, and I completely reworked my diet so that I no longer feel like trash every single day.
I now realize how dangerous regular gyms (not private ones like LSL) are in that they provide you with no instructions and they don't encourage you to consult with trainers when something bothers you (e.g. pain in your knee during an exercise). In the past, I would have just kept working out and eventually hurt myself. Now, with LSL Fitness, I can talk to Leo right away when something doesn't feel right and he'll either correct my technique or instruct me on how to roll certain muscles to relieve the tension/discomfort in a particular area.

   Read moreGyms have always made me nervous. I’ve never known what machines I’m supposed to be using, in what order, or how heavy the weights should be. Not to mention trying to figure how to do all of that without making my shoulder and knee pain worse.
Thankfully, I found LSL! When I joined, I knew I had all the classic bad habits (skipping meals, too much screen time, not enough hydration, sitting for 9ish hours a day) but I didn’t know where to start when it came to unlearning some of them. Leo, Lina, and Bree took the guesswork out of all of it. They made sure to understand my goals before guiding me through how to build new healthy habits and start a consistent workout schedule. They’ve paid attention to every ache I’ve ever had and either resolved it or made sure to make modifications as needed. Their app is also 13/10! It has a FANTASTIC meal recipe section that has made my meal prepping so much easier and food logging seamless.
For me, LSL has done so much more than just motivating me to lift/workout, they’ve inspired me to want a better lifestyle for myself. Leo: He's extremely patient, kind, and knowledgeable. There's a set daily circuit to work through, but Leo will help you find the right weight, and if you need to he'll help you substitute exercises to fit your needs. He also helps you set up a meal plan since dieting is a super crucial part of getting in shape. Leo is a great coach and a genuinely great person to be around. His wife Lina is also usually there, and she's very sweet, knowledgeable, and helpful as well.
The gym: The gym is very clean and well organized, with a good variety of equipment to use. Everyone I've met there is very kind and genuinely wants to be there. It feels like a real community of like minded people, which should probably tell you something about Leo too!
The results: Over the course of about 4 months, I've traded 10-15 lbs of fat for muscle. I'm lifting more than I ever have, and I feel stronger and healthier than I ever have as well.
