I shop here every few months. Pretty hit or miss, but overall solid. Following payment the cashiers always say “if you enjoyed your time in hit the 9 on the pin pad.” I typically hit the X to omit doing a survey (the X doesn’t give a rating, it simply skips the survey) which has just become my regular habit anywhere I go, similar to the way I hit the “no thanks” when Walmart asks me to rate my experience at self checkout. The cashier was extremely passive aggressive this time when I did so. She said “well did you not enjoy your time shopping?” and I told her it’s just my preference to not rate on point if sale systems when I’m checking our. She went into a speech about how the more 9s they get the more donations they get for an organization and how I wouldn’t have been rating them and could’ve given the 9. The donation system sounds really neat and I think it’s a cool thing for the business to do. However, it’s really uncomfortable to have your cashier get on to you and question your decision to not take a survey especially in such an aggressive manner. It made me uncomfortable and I wasn’t thrilled with the customer service approach. I’ve worked customer service for years, there’s a much better approach to getting ratings of 9. For example “hey, I just wanted to let you know for next time you’re in, if you do choose to rate, we’re helping support insert name of organization through the surveys we get, so they mean a lot to us! We’d love to get your feedback next time you’re in. Thanks for shopping with us.” Her approach was snarky and...
