A while back my husband secretly took my chipped ring to the store and tried to have it repaired for my Mother's Day. But he never gave it to me because the store destroyed it. Recently I found the chipped ring while I was cleaning drawers, it was painted with clear nail polish. I asked him if he knew what happened to it, he told me that he took it to get fixed but they didn't repair the chip, instead they painted it over with clear nail polish to cover it. They also charged him $40 for the "so called repair." My husband is an extremely nice guy and would never argue anything so he just paid for it when they charged him. When I first walked into Silver Spring Jewelry on Georgia Avenue 2 years ago, I was with my brother and had no interest in making any purchases at that time, but was impressed with the customer service my brother received by Ramon and his staff. Two months ago I returned looking for a gift, and was again pleased with the excellent customer service, and the fine selection of jewelry. I returned last week with my fiance to have a ring guard adjuster installed for her ring and a diamond replaced in my ring. We both were pleased with the warm and inviting atmosphere, and the wisdom of Ramon when it comes to his passion for Jewelry. Initially I had great service with this store. I went in June 2017 for a watch battery and while I waited saw a beautiful petite birthstone ring, reduced from $199 to $99. One of the smaller stones fell out after about two months and was replaced without question or charge. In December that same stone fell out and the larger birthstone too which I was able to recover. However, just yesterday I went to have this ring repaired, replaced or a refund and was told it was my fault the stones fell out and I damaged the ring and to repair it would cost me $100.
