Vegetables & fruits are often well stocked & fresh. Modest selection but just right and price is of course very reasonable. You can basically get most essential items here.
Being a German based store, the chocolate and occasional sweet treats are good, but overall, behind Lidl on the frozen sweet selection. I just hope the stores keep close to what they've been doing in Germany and not cater to blandness and over sweetened stuff for the American market.
I'd like to see more country of origin info, because I avoid made in China food stuff. Both Aldi & Lidl tend to not label country of origin on a number of items. Thus, I don't buy them. China has a long way to go on food safety & the systemic corruption doesn't help keep safety inspection trustworthy, at least not yet.
As for the store, both Aldi & Lidl move the lines quickly, and having phone payment helps a lot, too. Lidl is a bit better with self checkouts & technical implementation-wise. While the two stores compete, I find them somewhat complementary. Some products are just better or more available at one store while others are better at the other. I shop at both.
The Aldi & Lidl phone apps need to improve a lot more, such as keeping receipts & purchase history, getting rid of paper and move to touchless completely. Just follow Walmart example. Technology is there, it's a matter of initiative & implementation.
As a customer, you can surely help add to the value of the store, too. Keep yourself & others safe. Wear your mask completely, not just on the mouth, leaving out the nose. We now know aerosol infection is real and a big part of it. That's breathing, folks! Please cover up fully. You may be a carrier & not know it. The one life you might help save would add up many to keep this problem down for all of us!
Organize your shopping list before you enter the store, shop quickly move along, set items on the belt with bar codes facing the scanner so the cashier can scan them faster. Ready yourself so that once your items are all done, you can quickly pay & move out of the way for the next person. I do this & see others, too, but we can surely help make things easier if more of us do it! You can talk, socialize even when the work moves along quickly. It keeps everyone less stressed & happy.
I'm giving four stars because there isn't 3.5, which would be right. It deserves high marks for being a driving force in the market and doing a lot right with focus instead of spreading thin and having to jack up prices to compensate. Shop,...
Read moreI have been going to Aldi every since they came to my area. I have been to several Aldi's, but the Aldi's located off of Queen's Chapel Road has the WORST customer service from one person in general. Yesterday, I am waiting for parking, did not know I was blocking an employee of your establishment, when I looked around again, the Aldi's employee, sitting in her car was Cursing and swearing at me and even when I move and was saying I am sorry, I did not know, she was still irate, cursing and swearing. I was really, really upset, but I went inside of Aldi's, which I diligently go every Saturday and for the most part I see her and I speak to her and the whole staff, because I see them every Saturday. I feel like I know the employees there, that was why I was in shock over the treatment I endured from This employee. I am shopping, but not getting as much because I am upset and felt very disrespected by your employee. I got in line, another women I say "hello" too. She asked me how was I doing and I said, not Good. She inquired more and I told her what I just experienced with her employee, when I described her, she knew exactly who I was talking about and she said that she would talk to her. I said thank you. I know people that come to the store are demanding and challenging, but she needs to get help in rise above, we all do. She needs some training on Customer service and Anger Management. For all she knew, I could have been someone special, which I and others are, that is why we choose to cone shop st Aldi's. We choose to come to Aldi's and spend our money. Bad customer service and no dignity and respect can take down any establishment, because there is enough unkindness in this world and I personally do not want to go to Aldi's to pay for it. It would be an excellent idea to have "senses" training for ALL YOUR STORE EMPLOYEES and Especially this person at the Queen's Chapel Road store in...
Read moreNice clean ALDI, but the employees are not too quick to restock an item that has sold out. Several times I've had to ask, "Do you have more xxx in the back?". They did, just no one noticed that they needed to put it out. Other than that, a nice place for grocery shopping. This is an edited review: I am screaming, "WHAT THE ** HAS HAPPENED TO OUR BEAUTIFUL NEW ALDI? Is there no Customer service or respect for anyone anymore? Empty shelves and empty boxes all over the store, most any day of the week, not just weekends or bad weather reports. SO FRUSTRATING. Is this place having a hard time keeping employees??? Why, oh why, can't somebody stock the shelves and refrigerators? C'mon I wanna do ALL my grocery+ shopping in here (in one store). Not fun having to leave Aldi' s and go to another store to get what Aldi' s was out of, which is a lot. Disappointing to say the least. CORPORATE,...
