Excellent place to come and eat some Dominican and Puerto Rican food. We tried the trifongo with chicken and bacalao( cod fish) and the flavors were phenomenal. The trifongo nice, soft and not dry with a side of broth included for the chicken one. For dessert we had the cheese flan and tasted delicious. They have Presidente and Medalla beers and if you know those brands you know because they are staples in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Overall a great place to spend your evening with the family or with your significant other. Be aware that the restaurant already includes the tips on the check no matter if is solo or group dinning so no need to include tips. So if you come here and see an extra charge on the check is the tip as a lot of people from Latin America aren't used to tipping so the management no includes this on the check. Service was great and the servers had great knowledge of the dishes and had good recommendations on everything. Come and check them out you will leave with a full belly and happy.

Pricier than I would have expected based on the simple (but tasty) food, "authentic" atmosphere (meaning very basic and a bit tired/worn-out, like you might find when trying out an inexpensive place where locals eat while on a Caribbean cruise), not-so-nice/sketchy location, and just average service. And our friend who previously lived in the Dominican Republic was sad not to find on the menu a favorite she had been expecting - I wish I remembered its name so I could be more specific. Worth a try, but don't set your expectations of the experience too high or your expectations of the price too low. Expect your meat to be chopped up right on the bone before cooking, leaving all the bone chunks and shards in the dish as it is served to you. If that's your thing, you won't be disappointed. Honestly, if the experience and price had been better aligned, I might have rated it higher.

This was my first time having Puerto Rican food and I have to say it was really underwhelming. The carne frita with mofongo was very dry and tasteless. Feels like I was chewing on beef jerky but with no flavor and you’re going to be in for a jaw work out if you order this. The chicken with mofongo was definitely my favorite. The chicken came off of the bones easily and was decently seasoned. I also ordered some fried yucas and they were very dry and hard. For 1.1k reviews with decent rating, I expected the food to be very appetizing and well made but I wasn’t able to finish what I ordered even though I usually have a really big appetite. They were also out of flan and tres leches for dessert. The server was pretty nice but did take a while to come and collect payment when we were done. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want to try Puerto Rican food.

I would really like to continue to patronage this business but my latest experience is making that look doubtful. Service staff are friendly; environment is welcoming. But the portions are getting progressively smaller while the prices are above average. The food is average to good, but not as good as it was when I first started going. Today, I got take out which required over a 20 minute wait, despite the fact that the place was only about 1/3 full. I paid $13.99 for stew beef, which was sliced into small pieces; $14.99 (do the managers or owners really think that people are so gullible as not to understand that .99 added on to a price is just another way of adding another $1.00 to an item? I would feel better as a customer if you just indicated you charge $15.00----straightforward, no gimmicks) for ox tails, which included only 3 thinly chopped, small ox tails, and one was more gristle, fat, and bone than meat; the other was tough and partially cooked. So, my bill was $30.72 for two "meals" that should be classified as appetizers. Because my waitress was such a pleasant person, I gave her a $10.00 tip, and I bought a slice of cake of $4.00. I think this is my last time coming to this place. It seems that the owners or managers are investing more energy into devising ways to give their customers less food for more money (not withstanding the promiscuous use of ".99" tacked on to items to make it appear less expensive). Their business; their prerogative. But its not only bad business, its actually insulting. And my prerogative to take my...

By far the WORST experience ever, been coming to this place for a few weeks now. Went in with my coworker after work to grab food and drinks. We ordered a Presidente beer, upon her bringing the drink she assumed it was originally for my coworker. I told her it was for me, then that's when my coworker ordered another beer. She asked me for my ID I more than gladly gave it to her, upon her looking at my ID she informed me that my ID is not a valid ID. Due to the way the ID was formed which was in a vertical format due to it just being A STATE ID not a drivers license. I told her that the reason being it is a state ID and not a drivers license they're made differently. I also informed her that all ID's are different per state, as far as how they're made. (Mine was from Virginia, which is where I reside) She didn't even have the nerve to check my coworkers ID, but she had the nerve to check my ID. Never have I ever had an issue with my ID anywhere, she didn't apologize for the inconvenience. Nor was her customer service great, we were not greeted in the correct manner. At least there was one gentleman who made our visit "okay" had the decency to ask how we are doing, and if we needed anything. Point is if you're going to do your job, do your job 110% to the fullest and not partial. How do you ask for someone's ID but not the other person who's also ordering a beer? Never will I ever order from this location again. If I could rate it 0 stars I would be more than happy...

First off I’m 💯Boricua and I’m from CT, NY area looking for authentic Boricua food… I’m sorry but this restaurant wasn’t up to par at all! Our dinners were basic my young child was white rice with fried chicken pieces supposed to cost on their menu $8.50; my dinner ($9. each) and older daughters were similar rice with gandule beans and stewed chicken and ($5) yellow plantains sweet! Ok here is where it gets interesting- the stewed chicken was bland completely, the juice was very oily when it’s supposed to be seasoned deliciously and used to mix with the rice both dinners were same!!! The sweet plantains were brought burnt… I’m not sure what perception they have of a Puerto Rican restaurant but it failed totally in my experience! The drinks between us all totaled $6.; but the dinner’s that you see up top prices that were quoted on their menu was erroneous; they charged $15., for all 3 dinners. Not worth it one bit, I did speak to Manager she only offered free plantains tostone style not sufficient and did not try to give a discount of 10% o 20% for the disgusting display of food, blandness. The price was astronomical & $70., in which she knew was dead wrong. Honestly just the rice was on point so sad! I feel ashamed that they trying to represent my people’s delicious food that leaves people wanting more. I paid the bill because I’m a real person but I will never return or refer anyone there! They could have done much better. This however is not my Boricua...
