Levy's Appliances & Furniture — Local services in Slidell

I just wanted to get on here and expose this place for the lies they tell you. I was in the market for a new or used washing machine. I already had a dryer, but the new washing machines were going for about 470. Not too bad I guess but then Jake I believe is his name told me that he had a used set for 399 plus tax. I almost couldn't believe it. I asked him DID THIS SET HAVE A WARRANTY and he told me it has a 30-day warranty. So, in that case I decided to buy it. It was delivered two days later on Monday 9/22/25 after I got off work. The driver who set it up told me how to use it and everything. It is a nice machine. That very same night the washing machine did not work. So, I called then the next day and he had the same guy come out after I got off of work to, I guess fix it which he could not do. He told me that the washing machine needed to be a full load. That is ridiculous because what if I don't have a full load then what. Okay so I tried to do a full load like he said. Well would you believe it, it still doesn't work. I called them back on Wednesday and he said he could have someone out the next day. The same guy comes back Thursday and still can't fix it. So, he said let me take a picture of the inside of the machine and show to Mr. Levy so he can see that it actually isn't working. He told me that Mr. Levy tells me that he might have to send a technician out to fix it because they can't figure out what is wrong and why it won't spin. Remember, I've only had the machine for 5 whole days. So here it is Friday, and I get a call from Mr. Levy telling me that he can give me a credit of 200 for another machine because he can't afford to send out a technician to fix it. So that will actually have me spending more money than initially went in there for because they took out my dryer even though it was working but they took it away so that the set could be in its place. I asked him do they still have my old dryer, and they can just have this set back and I will start over, but he tells me no that it is gone. So, with that being said, I will never buy anything from this business again because I was going to go back and browse around but after this that will be a hard no for me. I understand people might like this business and you have that right, but I am just to warn future customers be careful when you go in there if you buy something used because it might very well be broken when you get it. Several months past my wife and I purchased a top loader GE washing machine from Levy's appliance. We had a tremendous problem with the machine due to balancing in the spin cycle. In spite of the fact that the machine was impossible to use, GE service refused any help stating that it was not a manufacturing problem. Jake Levy of Levy's Appliances stepped up and took the machine back, sending out a Whirlpool machine that works perfectly. This is the difference in buying from a local merchant, one that lives and cares about the community and the people that live in it.
