I’ve been coming to this Rite Aid for years with no major issues until today. I was picking up prescriptions for my fiancé, who had just been in the ER for kidney stones. The pharmacy tech didn’t greet me or explain the total, and when I asked why there was a charge (since our prescriptions are usually covered), he cut me off with, “It’s only $2.”
I told him it wasn’t about the money, I just didn’t understand why there was a charge this time. Rather than help or offer any explanation, he repeated the same dismissive line. After I went out to get my wallet and came back in, he barely acknowledged me and coldly said, “Yeah, Medicaid is usually $1–$3.” His tone made it clear he had no interest in being respectful or helpful. I felt 100% judged in that moment. I would never make someone feel like that, I don't understand why these people take these jobs if they don't like TALKING TO PEOPLE. By the way Mr. Pharm tech, not only does my fiance have a different form of Medicaid than me, but they changed their coverage recently. Usually when changes happen, the tech knows and says that. Then I say "oh well, they're always changing things aren't they? Here you go" and go about my day. 🤷🏽♀️ But I got "it's only $2! You can't pay just $2?!"
Those of us on Medicaid already deal with enough judgment without being ridiculed while picking up medication after an emergency. I didn’t come in asking for favors, I came in expecting basic customer service. I’ve always trusted this location, but this experience genuinely has me considering transferring our prescriptions elsewhere. They already have almost no inventory now, with judgemental pharm techs, one more strike and I'm switching our entire families medicines to acme. The only good thing about this store is the staff at the front. They're always friendly and chatty, love them.
So please know that I give the overall store and staff 5 stars, but this rating is purely for the pharmacy and to hopefully get the ball rolling on teaching work ethics to those techs. There hasn't been one time I've gotten meds lately where I don't feel judged. Much less a smile or short conversation to be had. Not like it used to be here. Hope that changes soon before I have to...
Read moreWas a loyal Walgreens pharmacy shopper for years but their slack has led to me coming here and I love it MUCH better here. The store is very clean and bright, the staff is friendly, and best of all, the pharmacy is great! They get my medicine done the same day it was sent, and Walgreens just couldn't do that for me. One time rite aid was out of my medicine, but they had it by when they promised the next day and that's all I can ask for, is a pharmacy I can count on. After dealing with Walgreens, this place is top notch. This is definitely my new pharmacy and quick stop shop!
Edit- 7-19-25 - Thank goodness this place is closing soon. Pharmacy staff is all different from when I first came here and they're mostly rude and confused. One lady was nice, but I still don't have all the medicines my doctor sent here and only got half of my weekly prescription for the second time. They never explained it to me despite me asking 20 different ways, but basically because they filled my prescription late, so now my fill date is WAY behind what it should be and I can't get the next one filled before they close next week most likely.
I am absolutely moving all my scripts to a new pharmacy asap. I'd rather go somewhere where they know how to take responsibility and explain that they didn't fill my prescription for over a week, so now my prescription date is all messed up and I'm behind and don't have enough medicine. They didn't seem to understand that though when I told them this is the second time I'm only getting half of what I'm supposed to get. Not good for those of us taking maintenance medicines we need every day. Good riddance. Take pride in your work next place you go. You messed up and didn't order it in...
Read moreThis is not intended to disrespect anyone but give an overall complaint to management and corporate
I have crossed path with the manager ( mary) on multiple occasions, everytime I do so I have noticed an awful lingering smell of cigarettes off her. The smell is so bad it makes me want to throw up and almost pass out, this is really disgusting and nasty. I can imagine the 2nd hand smoke I probably get from being near her. Personal hygiene does not seem to be an issue to this individual, and I feel very bad for the employees who have to work with her. This is not professionalism at all. This is pure disrespect to the customers and even the employees, cause a person who works in management should not...
