Forewarning; I am writing in hope of change not pitchforking. I ordered what I always get yesterday, a gyro and a chicken shawarma meal. I ordered that and went to the establishment. He said I have your order ready, I pay 14.88 thinking(oh they must be giving me a deal! How nice). Theeeeen I get my orderā¦ā¦. And there TWO sandwiches. Iām heavily confused, and ask him if he put my chicken shawarma meal in the bag. He says āyeahā. I point at the sandwich, āthatās a meal?ā. He stands on his previous assessment. Iām like āhuhā how is that sandwich a meal!? But I donāt say it. He tells me I should have said platter instead of mealā¦ā¦ā¦ Iām not even gonna get into that because they are immigrants(always give them benefit of doubt), a meal obviously denotes more than one item.
Regardless he said another 5 minutes. I come back after grabbing some liquor. And my food is ready, and he again tells me to say platter on phone. I keep it in mind, I just want my food. He rings me up an additional 11 dollars, to which I point out that the sandwich is 6.99 and the PLATTER is 11.99. He starts lightly panicking, looks me in my eyes and says heās gonna have to throw out 4 meals š. Ooooook, thatās not my problem I say In my head, but I just stare in disbelief he would tell that to a customer. He then tells me itās 4.10 more which is accurate and I pay. I normally never check my food, but I thought Iām gonna be livid if my meal is wrong for the third time. I check it, and lo and behold itās wrong AGAIN. I respectfully tell him itās wrong and he gives me what I ordered. Then apologizes and gives me 2 free sauces. Which I appreciated. Now I would not have wrote this if not for what happened just now on DoorDash.
I ordered a spicy beef kofta sandwich, literally says sandwich in description. And they still screw up by giving me 4 small dry discs of barely spicy beef that costs 5$ when I paid 9$! Iām just done with them. I may try again in a month because they were good before and now they arenāt. Please fix this guys, I know you guys are great, just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy boss had been telling me about this place for awhile. Told me how good the food is. She was right. I'd give Dari more stars if I could. My husband and I went there to get food to go for a "truck tailgate picnic." I love Near and Middle Eastern food; my husband isn't so adventurous, but he agreed to go. This place won him over. He told me he was glad I encouraged us to finally give them a try! So, I'd like to encourage you to give Dari Kebab & Gyro a try, too. We got a veggie platter with an extra side of stuffed grape leaves, a gyro platter with an extra pita bread, and a cheesesteak with fries. The grape leaves were wonderful! Two of them were gone before we even left the parking lot! I couldn't help myself, they were so good. The pita is homemade, or at least not that pita that you get at a regular grocery store. But I think it is fresh-baked; I'd be surprised if it wasn't. It was warm and soft and absolutely delightful! The zaalouk was delicious, and I loved the hummus, too. My husband sampled my food and he surprised himself by how much he liked it--especially one of the sauces that came with my platter. EVERYTHING was fresh and delicious. And the proprietor was very welcoming and offered great customer service. They really took care to ensure we got value for our dining patronage. My husband liked his cheesesteak and fries, btw. Next time we go there, he said he will look forward to trying something different. I am looking forward to returning, too. Always going to get grape leaves!, but I'm looking forward to trying their other offerings, like the kebabs and other items. The restaurant is clean and the decor is simple yet comfortable. I would feel perfectly fine going there to dine-in with my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: I just had a very shady encounter with the cashier. I think he just tried to hussle me for money. I came in to get my normal order which I get like once a week every few weeks. The Cashier as he is checking me out says, "hey remember that time you didn't pay for your food?" And I am just shocked. I have always paid for my food and I actually had a situation where I paid and ever received the food. I tell him no and ask when he thinks this happened. He kept insisting I hadn't paid and said it was a couple of months ago, and that he had to pay for it out of his pocket, and was expecting me to give him the money right there. I asked for more specific details because if it was a mistake or my card didn't process than I can check my account to see what happened. He couldn't tell me the date and when I told him about how he charged me for food never received months ago, he quickly backtracked and then said, "Oh it must not have been you." and then tried to offer me a free dessert. I made sure to ask for a receipt, and if I ever go go back I will make sure I always get a receipt from now on. Also, if that was the case why didn't he tell me about the issue months ago? I come in pretty regularly. The whole situation was really weird and uncomfortable and no one else who worked there was nearby to overhear the conversation. The food is great, the reason it is getting two stars is because there seem to be increasing issues with accepting and processing orders. I have had orders randomly cancelled on me and recently an order was paid for on their website but the food never arrived and no one could be reached at the store. It seems hard to get through on the phone...
