My daughter was diagnosed with the flu. She is just on the cusp of being contagious. We went directly from the doctor's office to the Walgreens pharmacy on Jimmy Drive in Smyrna to find that that they close at 8 PM and we arrived just before 8. She was refused service and told to return in the morning. Since the Walgreens on Forrest Avenue in Dover was open later, we made the 20 minute drive to Dover only to find that the prescription could not be filled because the Smyrna Walgreens did not put the prescription in their system. If it had, my daughter could have had the medication but, for want of a couple of minutes to input the prescription by the Smyrna Walgreens, she has to go without and will have full blown flu by the 9 AM opening. So, she will have to suffer and will have full blown flu by the morning. It would make much more sense that if the store is open, the pharmacy should also be open. A number of years ago, I worked in a drug store in Maryland and that was the policy. If the store was open, so was the pharmacy. We did not turn last minute ill custoners away. People do not get sick on store schedules. The Smyrna Walgreens has done it's customers a disservice and I am considering doing my business elsewhere. I hope you don't have to suffer with the flu like my daughter is being forced to because she tried to fill a prescription just before 8 PM. Thank you for dropping the ball.
I went back to pick up my daughter's prescription since she was far to sick to be able to. I talked to the head of the pharmacy department. She did apologize but also told me that the prescription was put into their system at 7:55 that night. I don't believe that that is true because I would have been able to pick up the prescription at the Dover Walgreens on Forrest Avenue which is a least a 20 minute drive away and they told us that the prescription was not in the system. When I pointed this out to the pharmacy manager, she had no real answer. I believe, considering how abrupt the woman we spoke to at the Smyrna Walgreens was when we initially tried to get the prescription filed, that the script was not put into their system until the morning and not right away as the pharmacy manager claimed. The employee who told us the pharmacy was closed was only interested in leaving. Based on her attitude, she would not have taken the time to input the prescription into their system. Please, don't give me excuses. Your staff that night were unfeeling, abrupt and this is the last time I will have a prescription filed at Walgreens. There are other pharmacies that would love to have...
Read morePharmacy service reps are doing their best but they are extremely under staffed. Their medicine bins are over flowing due to inaccurate sizing to meet demand and not very well sorted for accuracy and effectiveness. If they are unable to find the customers prescription in the designated bin(s) they will then search through piles of unsorted prescriptions similar to how my teenager looks for a pair of socks in his pile of laundry. This evening (after several minutes of searching) they were unable to find my prescription and offered to fill it again. Unfortunately I wasn't able to wait any longer and asked them to put it aside for my pickup tomorrow. It's unfortunate and disappointing this will most likely be my last prescription fill at this location as they are doing their best with what they have. Hopefully their real estate team at some point can find them a location that has a larger pharmacy and are able to recruit additional staff. If only there was an empty larger...
Read moreAs soon as I walk to the register to give my name for my pictures I was greeted with "YES!" In a very rude tone and manner from the employee. I told the rep in which her name is Beverly that I received a message that my pictures were ready so I was here to pick up. "NAME" she said, in which I gave her my last name followed by my first name. She then asked me if my last name was my first name and I told her no and gave her my first name. She got my pictures and said $10. I handed her the cash and she took it and didn't say anything else. I said is that it, do I have a receipt. She said, don't you get an e-receipt?!?!?! And that was it, no thank you, have a good day, or anything! Beverly made me feel very uncomfortable. She is definitely not someone who I would want representing a company. She was just unprofessional and rude. She definitely did not want to be there and I feel sorry for anyone who has to...
