Wawa — Restaurant in Smyrna

This store months ago after many years had a change with management, store manager and the vibe, friendliness, cheerfulness from employees with customers is gone, positive vibes between customers, employees has been off for a while, it’s gone, many employees who had worked there for years have left with this change, one is now up to a MIddletown Wawa, and these employees were great employees been there for years, the store inside isn’t as clean and the womens bathroom is closed to much for cleaning yet cleaning is not immediately taken place, July 20, 9PM just sign up closed, the second sink in female bathroom doesn’t work for a while now, sensor with the change in management the store is often short staffed as well, under stock, breakfast sandwiches out of stock by 10 AM on 7-21-25 with understaffed sure shoplifting has increased as well, with summer, vacationers in full swing I would avoid this store now on weekends, it’s constantly under staff now, long lines, not very clean etc hoagie fest travelers summer they decrease staff well many long time efficient employees have left …6 plus months ago this was always a 5 star Wawa, but now, maybe 3 star…Many good employees who have been there at this store for years and worked often are not there as much anymore, or at all anymore lots of new employees, young (there for the paychecks and need more positive friendlier, cheerful training is needed) and well the positive, cheerful, bright always clean Wawa with cheerful employees talking, laughing, teasing with customers...

Went inside this Wawa earlier today to PURCHASE two items, after leaving the checkout area, a Wawa employee (assuming the manager because of the clothes he was wearing.) stops me and says "I can help you in the front with that." with a nasty tone, definitely implying that me, who buys gas here, comes in almost on daily basis, was shoplifting. I assured him I bought the two items and that he could look at the footage, but then I was greeted with the response that he was going to take down my license plate of my vehicle and told me to "have a nice day." Excuse me? Absolute man child in a grown mans body. Another review under this location from under 2 months ago was saying every time they walk into this joke of a business, that they get racially profiled and watched by Wawa employees if they were anywhere in the store but the checkout line. That's nothing compared to the complaints of lazy employees, dirty restrooms, and rude service. Absolutely unacceptable in todays world and society. Cooperate will be contacted, and this manager of this location should be terminated...

June 25, 2024 I purchased another salad from this location and this has become another one of my go to Wawa’s because they have also met my expectations of preparing my salad’s. They haven’t missed anything, I specifically requested on my salads and the staff and overall environment is simply amazing. I enjoy stopping in this Wawa on my way home from Dover, the beach or whenever I’m coming headed home in the direction of this Wawa. Like I said in previous reviews every Wawa isn’t the same but hopefully one day they will all be on board, but I’m happy and proud to say that this Wawa is another one of my favorites. I been going in this Wawa off and on for the last 15 years but since I’ve been eating a lot of salads lately and this Wawa has stepped up to the challenge and met the requirements, I decided it was time to...
