UPDATE, I am a Diamond Platinum Choice member and the manager of this place Scott Patel will refuse to sell a room to anyone who has left a bad review even if reviews are the true if you ever experience this please report it directly to Choice he will tell his employee Yas not to book a room because member left a bad review and if reported Choice will do investigation because Mr Patels business conduct is not what they want to hear …I am a Choice Diamond Platinum member and I have stayed at this hotel on/off when I am in area for several years AND I MUST SAY this hotel is rapidly declining, it is so old, outdated, rates extremely high for quality, room furnishings uncomfortable, worn, outdated etc now this past year when I need a hotel I got so I travel to Dover even though it to is a older hotel Comfort Suites on 13 DuPont highway, south side has better quality cleaner bath, bed linens nicer TV, better comfortable beds, nicer continental breakfast and much more friendlier staff, ownership at Comfort suites..Sleep Inn, also much nicer Holiday Inn even better all on DuPont highway, 13, all south side 13 in Dover just several miles further south .. if when I stay at this Quality Inn I normally can only stand, stomach one day/night …this Quality Inn in Smyrna Delaware well it truly needs to be completely shut down with a complete remodeling overall inside, out especially of beds, bedding, towels, furniture and new management, staff who physically wants to work daily to better the quality of the hotel and not just have a place shelter to live at and a pay check, a general manager who physically works more then only a few hours a day there, doing the same nothing definitely need new house cleaning staff, perhaps younger physically more capable, knows how to deep clean including all the mirrors in the rooms etc etc most staff there which isn’t many actually live there but all of them are pleasant …my last half dozen stays were just as many others have negativity commented, nasty uncomfortable, declining smoking, stale smelling rooms, worn, torn bedding, old stained outdated towels etc molded bathroom fixtures and I just don’t stay there as much anymore, can’t stomach it, rates to high because I think desperate …I have actually had, seen a room with wires hanging, covered removed my smoke detector on ceiling in the room, most likely guest removed in order to smoke in room a smoke free hotel that is not being inspected and deep cleaned by staff after..the beds are so uncomfortable, old, the comforter same nasty where stuffing was falling out, ripped, worn, wrinkled, old, nasty stained, worn out bath towels, mold on bathroom fixtures, nasty shower, shower curtains, stains on carpet, wear, tear, it’s not even a continental breakfast, , never any fresh fruit like bananas, apples no yogurt, coffee is horrible, coffee area station counter dirty, always looking for napkins or bring my own paper towels and wipe before using, while they have always been pleasant the staff at desk literally do physically nothing but talk on, use their cell phones entire shift, the constant empty parking lot is details of all the above, as well as many of the accurate negative reviews…..bottom line the rates are extremely high for the quality and that most likely is because no completion in Smyrna Delaware, the place is old, out of date and management, owners, staff are doing nothing to brighten the place up, seems like turn over with staff as well a close staff/management relationship….the place really needs to be shut down, completely remodeled, then daily deep cleaning adjust the extremely high rates just to high for the quality…rooms ARE NOT worth more than 70 dollars a night, of course all hotels price gouge, increase rates for weekends and those times are when I never stay and less worth it especially at Quality Inn Smyrna…..time to clean up Quality Inn in Smyrna Delaware, offer more, do better or travelers will just keep going to Dover, MIddletown De...
Read moreI stayed several times at the Best Western now named Quality Inn located in 190 Stadium St, in Smyrna , DE, when we first arrived we were told at the front desk that breakfast was from 6:30 am until 9:30 am, when we came the next day to have breakfast there were two ladies with an attitude, what a way to start my day, complaining that the breakfast was not until 6:30 am, it was already past that time, we were three people in the lobby, that lady since then have being with an attitude her name is Keena and she works in the kitchen and the ways she approaches to people is not saying please, good morning, not courtesy at all. To say the least I told her that the yogurt expired and her response was I just work here, and complains about her job, peo[le like that if they don't like their job they shouldn't be here it shows bad quality of your hotel. Our last year was from Dec 17-20th and I always take a towel for me to the gym and always given to the front desk, out of the blew on Dec 19th I was bringing the towel and she was just sitting their and out of the blew she went off:MAM, YOU NEED TO LEAVE THAT IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM, NOT COOL AT ALL. Who does she think she is, that was ugly, and the guy at the front desk told me: do you want me to tell it to the supervisor? I said no, maybe that woman needs the job. When we returned on Jan 7th, the next day same attitude no good morning at all, she throws things, noticing she is not happy with her job. Plus we were served with rotten bananas and left overs things, she doesn't clean after a person leaves, leaving the tables dirty plus the station of the coffee serving same with sugar and milk in it. She is responsible of that part she should be telling the manager that fruits were rotten. I had it with this woman so I went to the front desk and tried to ask for a supervisor and told me that the supervisor won't come until Friday, well that doesn't help, he did nothing but listening to my story since the towel problem and how she yell at me and this woman wanted to stay in the conversation when she is not invited plus she is the problem, I also reported to him about the food. Since I don't see action I called Customer Relations and have a ref # of the problem to see if they will give us a solution in this matter. A day went by no supervisor has called me. Today around 7 am we came down to have breakfast and she was sitting facing towards the exit door and suddenly when she saw us she face the other way recording us and I told her that that was illegal and to stop and her response was that she was on facebook, if she is working is she allowed to be on facebook as she says and if she was pointing the camera on us how come she was watching facebook? there are also cameras to prove it because it has come to she said I said. My resolution will be since we are not coming back due to the bad service on her behalf and making this Hotel look bad, is to get fired and also her friend who wants to advocate for her by the name of Zolila or Zolola who knows how you spell it. Please take action, I have asked today to speak or have a supervisor call me and nothing.THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED!!!' On January 10th, my check out date, Solila and Keena continued being nasty and since they knew we were not coming back and were laughing and making fun of us. Management don't do anything, food is rotten, definitively there was no solution to my problem. These abusive ladies will continue giving the worse customer service, Solila sleeps on the job and Keena watches fb and don't work, just sits...
Read moreI am having a hard time contacting corporate. So sharing my review in hopes they reach out for a refund. For check in- their was another lady there saying her bed had brown stains—The front desk receptionist was rude. Upon arrival I checked my bedding and it had rust like stains. I called and asked for new bedding. And asked for cleaning supplies as the room was dirty. Smears on windows. Fingerprints on desks. And chocolate on the dresser. She said they didn’t have any cleaning supplies. When I questioned how they clean the rooms then? She said housekeeping but they weren’t there. Offered to switch rooms-I have two young children I had just settled in, so said that’s okay just new bedding and I went to store to get Lysol wipes when we got dinner. No one could bring bedding to room, you have to go get it-fine-I go down. Was 2nd in line waiting-she skips over me and helps another lady-seemed to be a family friend? Then I get my bedding-asked for all new-she only gave me 2 sheets. I strip the bed, put new sheet on, which are also stained. Get my youngest out of the tub, who was then covered in bites of some sort/had none prior to bath. So I start to check for bed bugs. I find evidence of bed bugs but no live adult bug itself. I find more stains on the mattresses, and fingernail clippings and garbage, lots of hair. It was filthy. I had 2 bites on myself and my husband had 1. None were found on the other child. We were not staying. We went to check out. Again rude. Would not provide me with any information that we left or a refund. Said I could call in the morning and talk to the manager. Which I plan to do. Update; took over a week to get to speak to someone. Spoke with someone who said they were the manager. Was a female. Said I’d get full refund in 3-5 business days. It’s been 10 days and nothing. Called again they said the manager is not there every time I call. And said it is a he. Do not ever stay here! Calling corporate again! Update: they charged me again!...
