After years of using them, I am so incredibly disappointed to post this negative review about Blue sheep.
This year, my daughter made a drawing of her dream cake for her 7th birthday. I contacted Blue Sheep, and included the picture of her drawing on the request form. The owner quickly responded to the e-mail excitedly and asked to speak to my daughter on the phone. I was hesitant, but trusted that it would be a good experience. My daughter spoke to the owner on the phone, and she asked her questions to make sure she made the cake just right. She said she would write it up and get back to us. My daughter was so excited that they would bring her cake to life.
We allowed her some time to send the invoice, as we know the shop is busy. After a couple weeks, I sent a follow up on our e-mail exchange, but received no response. I sent another follow up the following week, and received no response. After another week of nothing, my husband left a voicemail with the owner, but she never called back. A couple days later, I sent another email asking if they could please let us know if they can no longer make the cake so that we can make other arrangements. We never received a reply.
Finally, I texted the owner. She responded saying sorry that she’s driving and doesn’t have our information on her. I sent her the pic of the cake. Then she said she is short staffed and behind on email. I responded that I’m sorry she is behind and that it had been weeks since we last spoke, and we sent multiple follow ups and a voicemail. She never responded to that last text.
I could never respect a company or person that could treat a child like this.
My daughter is heartbroken.

Hi Karin,
You were able to respond to this so quickly.
When I sent you a text on 4/2, I was trying to give you once last opportunity to respond and make amends. I knew that you require a few weeks for your custom cake orders. Since I had not heard back from you or anyone else at Blue Sheep or received an invoice since you spoke to my daughter on 2/27, by 4/2 it was pretty clear that you had no intention of making our cake. As my daughter’s birthday was approaching, it also meant that we would not have time to request a custom cake from anywhere else. I mentioned in my text that at first we were worried something had happened to you, but then we noticed that Blue Sheep was making social media posts nearly every day.
Your response to my text did not come across as a heartfelt apology, but I appreciate your latest apology. At first this felt like such a positive experience, but it turned so sour. I understand that life gets hectic, as we have been feeling the same way this year. Congrats to your son on his graduation!
For current and future customers, I recommend that at the very least you set up an auto reply that you WILL respond to all calls and emails. Even if you simply didn’t have the time to take our request, I would have been satisfied with a response that you are just too busy with...

After posting my review, the owner of Blue Sheep Bakery reached out to me personally and explained the situation. I truly appreciate their honesty, accountability, and responsiveness in addressing and resolving my concerns. It’s clear they value their customers and take feedback seriously, which means a lot.
I’m deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Blue Sheep Bakery. My son was so excited to pick out an ice cream cake for his 5th birthday. He chose the Oreo cake from their website but asked for the sprinkles to be left off since he won’t eat anything with sprinkles.
Before placing the order, I called the bakery to confirm if this customization was possible. They assured me it was and instructed me to order the cake “as is” online, then call them with the order number so they could note the change. I followed their instructions exactly and was told the baker would be informed.
However, when I picked up the cake yesterday, it was covered in sprinkles. I immediately let the staff know the order was incorrect. The girl who brought out the cake said there was nothing she could do and offered me a different cake from the case or another dessert. While I appreciate the gesture, it completely missed the point—this was the cake my son had chosen for his birthday.
What upset me most was the lack of accountability. It didn’t feel like they cared about the mistake or its impact on our celebration. I know this might seem like a small issue, but to a 5-year-old who had been looking forward all day to coming home and celebrating with his cake, it was a huge disappointment to find it wasn’t what he wanted.
I’ve always loved Blue Sheep Bakery’s desserts, but this experience was really disappointing. If you’re ordering something customized, I’d strongly recommend getting written confirmation to avoid situations like this. It was incredibly upsetting to spend $50 on a cake my son...
Read moreI recently ordered two gluten free cakes to celebrate my twins birthday. Upon arriving at the bakery to pick up the order, the cakes were not ready. They weren’t ready because despite receiving an order confirmation and receipt for payment of the order, there was a technology glitch that caused the order to not be received by the bakery. This glitch wasn’t discovered until the day my cakes were due to be picked up. In addition, the pickup day was Thanksgiving eve, i.e. the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Once the bakery staff realized the significance of the issue, they contacted the bakery owner. The bakery owner allowed the staff to provide me with her cell number so I could contact her directly to discuss how to rectify the issue. The bakery owner was extremely apologetic and offered to bake the cakes Thanksgiving morning to ensure my kids had their cakes for their birthday. I was hesitant to take her up on her offer because I felt terrible that she had to work on Thanksgiving, but she assured me that she was happy to do so. The cakes were amazing (as usual) and our crisis was averted. I’ve been going to Blue Sheep since they opened…not only are their baked items delicious, but they also provide high quality customer service. I wholeheartedly appreciate the owner offering to bake the cakes, especially on Thanksgiving morning. Lastly, there was clearly a technology glitch which caused the issue. Some people would’ve gladly used that as an excuse to not hold themselves accountable, but she did not do that. She was adamant about making the situation right even though it wasn’t directly her fault. I highly recommend Blue Sheep for their quality/delicious baked goods, but also because customer experience is important to them. Thank you again for making my kids 15th birthday...
