Highly Recommended and here's why:
Danken gutted my old kitchen and installed a new one. The planning part was relatively painless. They have an excellent CAD system that shows a detailed representation of what the kitchen will look like and changes can be made on the fly. One of the companies I had contacted provided a plan done in something like Goggle Sketch Up. Er, no. There are a dizzying array of choices as to cabinet styles and finishes. Everything is dovetailed. They suggested a set of lazy susans inside the corner cabinets which increased usable space and the drawers close by themselves with just a nudge. All the suggestions were helpful.
If you want something that is not in the samples, that's fine as well. I provided the faucet and spec'd a newish floor material.
The craftsmen were polite, amiable, quiet and considerate. There were few snafus (Updated electricity regs, for one) and they were brought to my attention immediately. They were extremely neat and cleaned up every day (8 to 4). They were always on time. I was told the job would take a month and it took somewhat less than that. None of that going off to work another job, no delays, not even with the electric snafu.
I was told how much changes would cost along the way and when I got the bill every thing on it had been accounted for ahead of time. There were no surprises, not one. The job cost what Danken said it would cost.
About the cost - they are not cheap. The Sketch Up people's quote was less but then again it was done on Sketch Up in black and white and couldn't be enlarged. It was worthless. Danken was not, however, the most expensive either and I had one quote that was quite a bit more.
A fellow down the street went low bid and sometimes they would show up and sometimes they did not and he was always arguing with the owner about surprise ad-ons to the bill. There was none of that nonsense with Danken. They were highly efficient and adhered to the plan at...
Read moreDanKen has remodeled two bathrooms for us. Dan K. walked us through the estimate and helped us choose tile, cabinetry, fixtures, etc. He was extremely helpful since doing this kind of thing is not our forte. The guys completely gutted the bathrooms (in two different homes) and started over from scratch. In our current home, they moved a wall, altered the large hallway closet by moving the door, added more appropriate shelving, and a wired a light with a switch on the wall. They also added a ceiling vent which is vented to the outside (not the attic). Every day the men cleaned up their tools and neatly stored them in an area that we provided for them. They also cleaned up any debris from the floor (they used runners to help keep everything clean) and gave us an update on what was done that day and what would be happening the next day. They stayed on the estimated schedule. We felt comfortable having the men in our home even if we weren't there. They kept to the budget...there were no hidden costs. I highly recommend DanKen Corp for your next...
Read moreDanKen just completed a stunning primary bathroom remodel in our home. The company came highly recommended and lives up to its stellar reputation. Their initial estimate was spot-on, and Dan K. made the design process a pleasure with an immediate understanding of our personal aesthetic. Construction began and ended on schedule with a daily crew that was a pleasure to have in our home. At the end of each day, everything was completely clean. Ken W. provided regular on-site supervision and excellent communication throughout the construction phase. If you are considering DanKen, look no further. This company is superior: its staff is customer-oriented, its crew is highly skilled, and its business practices are utterly...
