Buyer beware when dealing with New Horizon Movers. Even though someone came out to the house to physically list and view the items to be moved, we were told later that the quoted price did not include wrapping furniture or protecting glass shelves. Two armoires were damaged, 1 bureau, a china floor lamp was broken in two, and a brandnew hardwood floor was gouged so deep, several boards were damaged beyond repair. Also, a bedframe foot was missing and could not be found. A custom table with mosaic tiles was ruined because the tiles came off in the truck and could not be found. New Horizon refused to compensate us for any of the damages and said that wrapping the glass shelves and padding some our items equaled the cost of the damage done to our furniture. We were told AFTER everything was moved that New Horizon did not agree to wrap anything and since they did wrap a few items such as the glass shelves in my china closet and the glass in the dining room table, New Horizon said that they would not charge us for wrapping up the glass to compensate for all of the damages done to our belongings! I told the estimator several times about the glass in the dining room set and he nodded. When he handed me the estimate, I assumed that this included wrapping the glass in our dining room set. We were giving a great deal of verbal abuse by the New Horizon office staff when we said that no compensation for damages would be given to us after we stated that we were not aware that the wrapping would be an additional charge. After about a ½ hour of screaming over the phone, New Horizon said that they would send someone over to repair the gouge in the hardwood floor but no one ever came or even attempted to contact us. Besides all the damage New Horizon Movers changed their acceptable method of payment. We were told that we could pay ½ of the move with a credit card and then we could pay for the other half with cash. Since our move was 2 days, we paid for day one with cash. At the end of the 2nd day, the bill was presented and we were told that a credit card would not be accepted for the balance due. New Horizon threatened to call the police if they did not get cash from us immediately for the balance! We did not have the cash and so the moving company followed us to the bank and waited until the cash was withdrawn from our checking account. Also, when the movers were getting ready to leave, we noticed that there was packing materials and cardboard left on the ground. We insisted that New Horizon take the trash with them. So they took the trash and cardboard and threw it in the dumpster at OUR bank! I wouldn’t recommend this moving company to my...

Crew got the truck stuck in our driveway in two spots. We were super understanding and even helped the people trying to get it out. But we were extremely surprised when there was no offer from any of the crew or the company to help repair the huge ruts in the front lawn or the crushed rock wall. My husband spent 2 hours helping them get the truck out while half the crew sat and watched… Amal later blamed ME for the fact their driver got the truck stuck. During our consultation we mentioned trucks have gotten up our steep driveway before by going to the right around the circular drive- their driver went left and then tried to back on the front lawn to be closer to the house. And once my husband got them unstuck from that… they went to the LEFT and not the right, which was not our instruction. But we also never insisted they enter the driveway at all… they eventually loaded on the street, which was always an option. They just declined it at first because they chose to try to get closer to the door.
On the other end of our long distance move, boxes I had marked “fragile” and “nothing on top” came out of the truck crushed and broken from being on the bottom of stacks. Glass picture frames, dishes, etc. inside broken.
Our bedroom set is extremely scratched because it was only wrapped with moving blankets halfway down so the bottom halves were rubbing against the wall of the truck. Some pieces also dented from ratchet straps- not enough padding under the straps. But Amal insisted it was all like that when they picked it up. I assure you, it was not.
Our king mattress also now has a huge hole in the bottom from the ratchet strap they cranked around it without padding under the metal ratchet. Amal also said this was my fault. Not really sure how?
We thought hiring “professional movers” would be less stressful for our long distance move, but it ended up making the...
Read moreI recently used New Horizon for my move, and I can honestly say it was one of the best moving experiences I’ve ever had. From the very beginning, their customer service was top-notch—clear communication, quick responses, and a very straightforward booking process. They explained everything upfront, including pricing and what to expect on moving day, so there were no surprises. On the day of the move, the crew arrived right on time, fully prepared, and ready to get started. They were professional, friendly, and extremely careful with all of my belongings. I really appreciated how they wrapped and protected my furniture, making sure nothing got scratched or damaged. Even with heavier items like [couch/bed/dresser], they handled everything with ease and a lot of care. What stood out the most was their efficiency. They worked quickly but never rushed, and they were very organized the entire time. I could tell they knew exactly what they were doing, which made me feel a lot less stressed during the process. They even went the extra mile to make sure everything was set up properly in my new place before they left. Moving can be such a stressful experience, but New Horizon Movers made it smooth and easy from start to finish. I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and trustworthy moving company. I’ll definitely be using them again for any...
