When our 9yr old electric Samsung glass-top range started having problems with the cook top, we thought we would look into converting to propane for cooking.
We also decided to avoid the big box stores and look for info and a possible new range at a smaller, local, family owned store that is PART OF our community.
N.F. LANDIS & SON was our first choice for this. BOY AM I GLAD! Although, coordinating between them and our new Propane company, MeenanPA... means we can't have delivery before Sept 9... also coordinating my day off to be here, and Meenan is just up to their ears in current bookings; we couldn't be more pleased with how we were treated at N,F, LANDIS!
We started with a "fact finding" mission LAST Sat. Luke Bennett was our informational "host" for this trip over and he was awesome... not only answering questions we had, but making sure that if he wasn't sure of the answer, he SAID SO, AND IMMEDIATELY found out what we wanted to know, We were probably there at least an hour last Sat, looking and asking a ton of questions,
Then, from last Sat (Aug 10) to yesterday (Aug 17) I did a lot of on-line research on the models we were interested in, trying to weed out and settle on something that would meet our needs, fit in the space we have for it... and still not use up every last dime I could afford to spend on this.
When we left to go purchase our choice, the price comparisons I had done on-line had me thinking we were going to be stuck paying between $1500 and $2500 for what we wanted, including the converter kit to change the stove from natural gas to propane and having the conversion done.
SURPRISE! NOT AT N.F.LANDIS & SON.
And about THAT PRICE.... Well, Luke checked and the oven we were leaning towards COMES WITH the gas to propane converter kit... it is INCLUDED. So, all we have to pay for is for them to install it! Can you say COMPETITIVE PRICING?
To be really honest it was more like SLAYING the big box store pricing than the word competitive really covers accurately. I didn't have to pay $2000, nor $1500 or $1200 or even $1000. I walked out after paying only $902.05 for EVERYTHING including tax and the 1yr warranty the unit comes with plus a 2ed year that is currently be offered at no additional cost. AND. currently there is a $50.00 REBATE being offered by GE on the model we ultimately chose..That will still be coming off of the amount I wrote my check for!
Amazon offered this same range for $800 and something, with free shipping (if you are prime, which we are not). OH, but, there was no mention made on that site about the converter kit, or installation of the kit... so you have to find someone and pay them to do that. It also did not cover the balancing or install of the range at your home... and there is obviously not a repair option if anything should go wrong, You are on your own,
NOT with N. F. LANDIS & SON. They SERVICE WHAT THEY SELL with qualified Repair people that know what they are doing, from what I have read. Given the rating this range was given pretty much across the boards... five stars, from several different web sites... we may never actually have cause to find out about this... personally...lol But, at least we KNOW N.F. LANDIS has our backs on it if we ever DO need them. They don't just farm it out to heaven knows who. They OWN the responsibility of insuring that their products work and that we are happy as hell!
Luke was friendly, caring, had a great sense of humor, and was patience personified during both times we worked with him to come to a decision. (You can only imagine the numbers of questions, the worry we had about making a good choice and the money it was going to cost us... we live pay check to pay check most of the time, this was a huge deal for US.)
When we needed moments alone to talk about what we were learning or look at additional models, he was available if we had YET MORE questions, but NEVER breathing down our necks...
We will NEVER consider buying an Appliance anywhere...
Read moreI purchased a GE Microwave oven replacement installed above my stove. I also purchased a GE dishwasher replacement with stainless steel. From my first call I got Chris Johnson. She was in the sales dept. and was awesome. She was very friendly, professional and I really enjoyed the process ordering over the phone and talking with her. She knew their products and was so helpful. I can’t say enough good things about her. She gave me great suggestions and never tried to upsell me. She help me with the measurements process and was very patient with me because I’m elderly and it difficult to get pics of the inside of my kitchen sink so she could see how the pipes and hoses from my old dishwasher were located. She sent all the info and contract agreement via email. The installation was done yesterday by two great guys, Jim and Tyler. They were professional too and made every effort to protect my kitchen floor and cabinets. They vacuumed the floor and afterwards and cleaned up everything. I removed my cooking products from the left side of the cabinet above the stove thinking they needed only access to the plug outlet..wrong…I should have removed everything. But, Tyler was so gracious and he took them out and passed it on to me to put on my counter. Jim installed the dishwasher and had to get under my sink…which was not a comfortable thing to do. But, he was a champ and hooked everything up and even secured the hose up to the top of the inside cabinet so, I actually have more bottom space for my cleaning supplies. Wow! That was a bonus. I really like them and how nice they both worked together. They installed both perfectly. Fantastic job. I am so thrilled I got my appliances here and had the wonderful guys that installed everything. Best...
Read moreWe decided to give Landis a shot at installing a new range for us. The initial buying process was good. Nothing really different than the norm. Chris Johnson helped us do the final transaction and scheduling, there was another gentlemen that helped us which was also another reason why we decided to buy.
For us, what really made the experience was the installation. Tyler and Blake were phenomenal. They were incredibly professional, paid attention to detail and did a great job installing it. They did some extra work in order for the range to fit. Probably a 10th of an inch off or less on the granite countertop because apparently ranges have been changing size in the past few years. Who knew, we didn't... They laid out some cardboard to bring stuff in, they vacuumed, they even asked if they could turn the vacuum on as my wife and I had alternating meetings while they were working. Most installers, wouldn't care. Tyler and Blake did. That stood out.
We wanted to bring attention to these 2 gentlemen and I did contact our Salesperson Chris about them as I would love for them to get something as far as an incentive for doing an impeccable job of being the "face" of the franchise. Even if the sales was seamless etc. What most if not ALL of us customers will remember is this. This final interaction. If this goes sideways, the reputation goes awry.
Kudos to you Tyler and Blake. Need a referral, don't hesitate to reach out, I'll be happy to attest to your promptness, attention to detail as well as your overall professionalism. Let NF Landis know that you deserve a bonus for not only doing your job but representing them in such a manner that a customer...
