Five Guys — Restaurant in South Bend

I usually love coming here but I went this past Friday and did not have a great experience. They take way too long to make shakes and one of the employees yelled at me when I was eating. I had not seen any signs anywhere saying we could not eat and there were multiple people eating while they waited on their shakes. The guy making the shakes was taking his sweet time and was walking around talking to people instead of doing his job. An African American employee saw me eating while I waited and yelled across the restaurant saying it was a carry out only. He continued to yell asking me if I saw any other people eating. There were indeed multiple people eating.

I understand we were not supposed to eat in the restaurant, but there are other ways to talk to people. This was coming from an employee who was wearing his mask on his chin, not following regulations. This was the worst experience I have ever had at any Five Guys restaurant which is sad because it is usually pleasant. I think they need to do a better job of screening their employees and hire employees with better people skills or train them better on...

Five Guys Burgers (Notre Dame location) Food was fresh and very delicious, with a quite simple menu of well-made burgers, fries & shakes; Service was prompt, food was hot, and appetizing; Server was professional, friendly and quick! I was greeted warmly, and by name for both take-out and eat in; Staff was very friendly and helpful to customers; The dining area was clean, well-stocked, and attractive for fast food services; Nearby parking was very limited; Handicap accessible easily! My Personal Experience : I would highly recommend this business for delicious, REAL burgers that taste fresh, and wonderful! The fries were outstanding, and so was the shake - delicious! Safety & Service: The servers were very friendly, funny, and helpful, they were having a good time, and looked happy to be there. All were correctly groomed for service work. My daughter and I went for dinner tonight and there was a little mixup with our burgers, one was made incorrectly. I took it up to the counter and the gentleman immediately apologized and quickly got the fresh burger out. When I picked it up he offered a complimentary drink or shake but I ultimately denied it because we had already had some at our table. I wasn't upset, I completely understood and told them it was totally fine and there were no worries. But a few minutes later another gentleman in a black uniform comes to our table to sincerely apologize once again and hands me a gift card for my next visit. I wasn't expecting anything free in return for the small mistake but WOW!!! This service was EXCEPTIONAL!!!
