Picture This Framing Center & Gallery — Local services in South Kingstown

I felt this was necessary to post. I brought three small illustrations - hand painted from Italy - to Picture This in October. I paid half as a deposit on an expensive estimate. I expected them to take a few weeks, but by the holidays, I hadn't heard anything. I left a VM in December. No response. Another month or so passed and I finally talk to someone in February. At first, they started to stress that I had picked them up. I told them I had not and they repeated the possibility several times. I let them know that I would remember if I picked up the order and I asked them to stop stressing that as a possibility. At this point, I just wanted to know that the handmade drawings were safe. They finally found my order, it wasn't completed. They said they would be framed within the week, but it took longer. I went in a few days after hearing they were complete to pick them up. They were very apologetic, but I was disappointed. I asked if I could have a discount, as I waited several months and my phone call was ignored. Instead of a discount, they upgraded the glass to museum quality. A nice gesture, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough on a project that was hundreds of dollars; I called repeatedly with no response; and the project took over five months to complete. I wish I had gone elsewhere. First for the price, second for the service. I should also note, we were repeat customers and I was hoping for a better reconciliation than...

I stopped in a couple of weeks ago with project in hand and was very disappointed. There was a couple ahead of me looking at frames for their project. The woman who was working went into a panic, telling me she couldn’t help me because the couple was there and that was all she could handle. The couple even offered that they were fine to look at the frame options while I was helped. The woman that was working still couldn’t help me, saying no she couldn’t handle anyone else. I found the entire situation ridiculous and uncomfortable. There is a lot competition out there for framing, you might want to find someone who can multitask and offer decent customer service to work for you!! This past week I had the pleasure of taking a photo into Picture This for proper framing. The skilled work was completed the next day and I was contacted to come in for the pickup. While in the store, I walked by a beautiful watercolor print by James Early that was attractive to me the moment I saw it. As I continued visiting with Donna, the very friendly and helpful person I was working with, I was drawn into the print, and eventually came back the next day to buy it.
