This was absolutely the worst experience that I have ever had! Upon entering the condo, there was a slight smell and the floors were moist and sandy. Oh well, let's try to enjoy our vacation anyway. Sat on the balcony to have a drink and watch people on the beach after a long 10 hour drive. Then we went to the beach and came in around 8. We had supper and drinks on the balcony until bedtime. My wife and I both almost threw up when brushing our teeth because of the foul water. Exhausted, we went to bed. The bed was awful - hard and sheets would not stay on - not a restful night. In the morning we made coffee with bottled water and then off to the beach. Came back around 1 and immediately took a shower. OH! MY! GOSH! The water smelled like sewage and the whole condo stunk. Talked to several people in the complex - they had no water issues. Obviously this unit does not have drinkable water and there is some sort of sewage backup issue that was not disclosed to us. Called SPI Rentals and they sent the maintenance man. He immediately said "Wow, I can smell the sewage! Not much I can do but put in some sani-sticks". I called SPI Rentals and demanded to be put in another condo or house elsewhere. They did not have anything available. I then demanded an entire refund. SPI Rentals said they would charge us for the one night in this unsanitary hell-hole and could possibly refund cleaning, taxes etc. Their only question was what time would we be out. By this point I was irate. We packed up the car and headed home for another 10 hour drive within 24 hours. Because it was so late in the day, we had to stop in San Antonio and pay for a hotel room. That was Saturday and Sunday. Today is Wednesday and we still have not heard from SPI about our refund. We will be posting this to Facebook so that nobody else will suffer the same consequences as we have.||I WILL NEVER USE SPI Rentals AGAIN!! I CAUTION YOU TO NOT...
Read moreOverall we enjoyed our stay on the 9th floor of the Saida III with Franke Rentals. The view of the ocean was spectacular, would have been even better without the tennis courts and pools in the way. The windows in the master bedroom and the living room were large enough to see everything, even from the kitchen. The condo was so large and had enough space for a couple more couches. The features inside our condo were a bit outdated. A few days into our trip, the fridge went completely out on us but maintenance responded fast enough and it was repaired within a few hours. There is a garbage shoot on the south end of the building on each floor and a laundry mat on 2nd, 5th and 8th floor. Be warned, its $2.25 per wash and $2 per dry. There is security in the building and they are pretty strict. We had a Uhaul trailer and they normally don't allow trailers but they made an exception since it was off season (September). One of the guards (supervisor) was extremely rude and tried to call me a liar when I told him that I already confirmed with the management company that it was allowed. The best part was that they accepted our large dogs, which is great because most condos don't allow them. There was plenty of space on the grounds to walk them and even a gate to take them out to the beach. The patio is very large and we enjoyed sitting out watching the waves, even when it rained. There are 3 pools, 1 large T pool and 2 smaller ones, all of which have a hot tub. The T pool also has a small 3ft kid pool, it actually looks like it used to be a hot tub. The lawn was well kept and facilities are very clean. There is not a recycling program at the condo but you can drop off your recyclables at the city on Saturdays. We really enjoyed our stay and would even consider returning for our next...
Read moreWe rented a condo in South Padre Island (Saida 1 room 205) from a VRBO "premier host" back in March and when we arrived the condo was a filthy mess. I swept the whole floor that was full of sand and dog hair. We then discovered a horrible smell that came from the living room area rug that smelled like wet dog and full of sand underneath. We rolled the rug up and put it in the utility closet. The curtains had stuff all over them and we found tissue in one of the pillow cases. The beds did not have fitted sheets so they kept moving and then we were laying on just the mattress pad that was nasty. The 2nd night we were there we washed all the sheets and pillow cases because their was hair all over them. Behind the bed looked like furry animals growing on the trim and wall. All of the cupboards were nasty with a greasy film on them. Part of the stove did not work and neither did the garbage disposal. The second day we were there, I messaged the owner and informed him how bad the condo was and sent him pictures. He stated he would refund me the cleaning fee of $100 and I informed him that was not good enough. He then agreed on refunding me $400.00 as long as I did not post any pictures or comments, He told me he would mail me a check and when I got home I checked the mail for several weeks and no check. I messaged him several times and he insisted he sent it. I asked him to re send the check and he would not do that with the other check still out there. I told him to do a stop payment on the other check and to re issue a new one and he would not reply back to me. I informed him I was going to post comments and pictures to many online review forums and still has not replied back to me. I called VRBO and they were of absolute no...
