If I could give negative stars…. I would! I’m currently, checked in, at this horrible establishment of a hotel! Blue Bay Inn and Suites is NOT pleasant! The website descriptions do NOT match the reality of your stay! I booked on Priceline, I had issues with the guest count as I booked for 1adult, 5 kids. But the booking showed 2 adults & 0 kids. Before checking in, I called to get things fixed; but Priceline gave “0” cares & said it’s left up to the hotel, so I asked the front desk if I could just stay tonight and cancel the rest of my stay because they were charging extra money that I was not willing to pay, especially when the pool was awful, the seats on the website are absolutely NOT what was out on the pool deck, hot tub didn’t work, same temperature as the pool, when you walk into the the place it’s HOT/HUMID-not welcoming and a major Red Flag 🚩, the place smells like MOLD and YOUR GRANDMAS BASEMENT, their breakfast is only peanut butter/jelly bread that you toast and basic auto place black coffee! What a joke! One of the reasons I booked was for breakfast, and I have (3) disability children with peanut allergies! The elevators are scary…. We pressed the emergency call button because we were delayed and the doors were not opening, the button does NOT work! The showers have really poor water pressure and it does NOT get hot- not even warming temperature!!! The guy at the front desk said they do NOT give refunds and I can not cancel the remainder of my stay even though, I mentioned to him ALL of my complaints and kids & I did not feel safe here health wise & esthetic wise. This establishment is hurting for money which is why they are false advertising and not accommodating guest with refunds. Doing things the right way, I would have left a pleasant review stating that the establishment was professional; but not even that! Just luring tourist in with lies and taking their money! It is my sons 16th Birthday, and this is what we are stuck with, FILTH! There are also no nice place in this establishment for pictures! They are stingy with towels, soap, etc… too! Embarrassing! I can’t even post pictures on my social media pages and will NOT tag where we stayed bc I am embarrassed! I have never traveled and been in such a horrid facility with terrible customer service and filthy literally everything! 1st time for everything! I’ve paid cheaper prices for REAL luxury hotels. Beware and Book somewhere else!

This family-run hotel has both pros and cons. We were two families who checked in around 10:30 PM on December 26, 2024, for a 3-night stay. While the price was excellent for the area, and the location is prime—everything is within walking distance—the experience had some shortcomings. Pros: Location: The hotel is in a great spot, making it convenient for walking to nearby attractions. Laguna View & Pool: The rear view of the Laguna is lovely, and the swimming pool is a nice addition. Affordability: It’s one of the most budget-friendly options in the area. Nearby Restaurant: Directly in front of the hotel is Yummies Bistro, which serves the best breakfast on South Padre Island. Cons: Reception Experience: The reception person was a bit rude, and the desk was often unattended when needed. Moisture Issues: The floors had significant moisture despite warning signs. A proper treatment to address this would enhance comfort. No Window Screen - there is no Window Screen due to this if you open the patio Door the Insets will come inside Room Kitchenette: Though they provide a kitchenette, there were no utensils or cookware, limiting its usefulness. Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi is password-protected, and assistance requires a trip to reception, which can be inconvenient. Breakfast: The breakfast offerings are minimal—just bread, sweets, and coffee. More variety would be appreciated. Housekeeping: While fresh towels were provided daily, old ones weren’t picked up. Need for Renovation: The hotel could benefit from remodeling to modernize its facilities. This hotel is best suited for solo travelers or short stays. If you're looking for affordability and convenience over luxury, it’s a reasonable choice. However, families or those seeking a longer, more comfortable stay may want to explore other options.

This place is sooooo disgusting. First off, the location is ok, but hotel in general is nasty. I do not recommend. My husband booked hotel online and well completed process with only adding 2 people, but my son than decided last minute to tag along. The receptionist (he said his name was Carlos but I believe it's not the right name) was very rude and practically yelled at my husband and told my husband he put only two people without even allowing my husband to speak, he practically just said we had to pay an extra $10, which we were like ok, but the way he spoke to us was so unprofessional. My husband was already providing him with his credit card, but just the way the man spoke to him my husband just told him to disregard and cancel. We walked out and proceeded to go to another hotel. We then returned since we were informed that we would not receive a refund so we paid the extra $10 fee and checked in. As soon as we walked in the room, I could smell the mold and roach infestation. I swear my nose got congested as my allergies kicked in quick. We headed over to the bed and saw stains on one of the bed, where my son would lay. I quickly said no, im not going to be able to handle the smell and how dirty it was. I told my husband screw the reimbursement let's go. We checked right back out and that's when I asked the receptionist for his name, which he said it was Carlos but I really think he lied. Please also do not believe the pics you see online, rooms look nothing like that. In this picture you will see a roach smeared on their wall of the room. I'm not able to add video here, if not I would gladly upload for you. We ended up getting room across the street at Suits at Sunchase Hoteld 1004 Padre Boulevard, South Padre Island, TX. Big difference.

How to start this review, decided on going out to South Padre Island with our little family for a few days during Spring Break. As we were checking in at the front desk the staff/front desk clerk was being very rude condescending and just had a horrible attitude we as a family asked her for her name to leave this review but she refused to give it to us when I said I was going to leave an online review so I'll describe her and hope management does recognize who I'm speaking about and does something about it because having her be the face of Blue Bay and be the first person guests meet is the worst part of this trip. ( She's short, Hispanic with long straight hair and wears huge bulky rings on just about every finger of her hands) She made our check in experience horrid and left a bad taste in our mouth. Made our way up to our room got settled in and decided to head out to find a good place to have dinner, as we made our way down to the lobby/front desk area we found a different clerk/front desk person was there we stopped to ask about good restaurants for different types of food and she did give us some great recommendations of places to go have a great dinner. We actually did go to one of the recommended restaurants and had an amazing meal. As we got back to the hotel the front desk clerk asked if we had found a place to eat and if we enjoyed the food and we did tell her that her recommendation was fantastic! This is how every front desk person should be with their guests (customer service) we asked her name and she said Stacy, SO THIS REVIEW AND 5 ⭐ RATING IS FOR STACY AND THE WAY SHE TREATED ME AND MY FAMILY. She was very helpful her customer service skills are impeccable and knew how to speak to and treat guests who decide to stay at this hotel. Our room was decent nothing fancy which I didn't expect. Bed sheets were clean room floors and restroom were clean. Bed was a bit uncomfortable but again I wasn't expecting anything luxurious we knew before checking in that we were not staying at the most fancy top dollar hotel so the minor flaws were to be expected and looked over. All in all our stay was great. One of our trips out of the hotel we did get a business card from Stacy to book directly through the hotel website or over the phone next time we're in town which we will do on our next trip. Our experience staying at this hotel was great except for that one front desk clerk ( Hispanic female with a big bulky ring on just about every finger on her hands) that checked us in for our stay. I would recommend this hotel to our family for future stays but I'm afraid of how they will get treated by the front desk attendant that checked us in. All in all we had a great experience with Stacy and another worker named Stephanie as well and a horrible experience with the worker who refused to give her name.

To Blue Bay management please do something about that worker, because of the way she treated customers your hotel reviews say a lot, I've read a lot of your reviews on here and it seems like this staff member is creating a lot of bad reviews for your hotel. We will see you again in April for our next getaway/family trip. But hope we don't have to deal with that front desk...

Gross. This hotel has become very run down in the last 4 yrs. Dirty floors, hallway carpets dirty & stained, cockroaches (even dead ones in refrigerator), dirty walls, doors, holes in walls & doors, old broken & mismatched very worn and broken down furniture. Bed linens stained & needs replaced. None or few wash cloths and stained. Staff says they are low supply (Why? Get some.) We had to buy our own. Always have to ask for toilet paper so bought our own. Hot & cold water is reversed. Ice machines don't work. Drink machines show a variety of drinks and water, but only has Coke per management instructions. Staff said that's all the owner wants in it...not even bottled water. Holes in bathroom doors. Fridge is beat up & looks like retrieved from a dump. It has a large continuous water puddle on top. Walls everywhere looks like patchwork. They have done wall repairs a while back and painted those spots with paint not matching what was there and not painting entire wall. Floors in rooms have mismatched floor tiles Over heard other guests complaining about faucets not working, broken furniture, no toilet paper, no wash cloths. Heater/AC fell off wall so maintenance man pushed back on wall and put wood blocks under to hold in place saying he didnt have any screws. Also, a bathroom door was missing pins in 2 hinges so the door wasn't working. The website you have a free continental breakfast. You only have coffee and toast and those aren't kept full. A box of tissues are used for napkins. The lobby/breakfast area has no TV to watch news or weather, etc but the wires are hanging there with the empty TV bracket. You have moved an old sofa into lobby and a pay per game pool table. That cut the lobby space in half so you pushed tables together and guests have to sit with others. Main lobby restrooms out of order over a month. Laundry room dirty and only 1 washer works again for over a month. Scraps of carpet used as rugs in elevators. Elevator doors dirty & very battered. Elevator walls missing railing with large exposed holes. I feel sorry for the front desk having to deal with complaints. ...
