Appliance Warehouse — Local services in South Portland

I don't know what is his title is or if he even has 1. But Tony is the man!! He could seriously teach classes on Customer Service! If it weren't for him I think we would have LOST our mind! Let me back up 20 years. When we built our house 20 years ago we went to A.W. and had GREAT success with the products. Our original fridge STILL works! About 10 years ago we updated our appliances from a "Big Box" store. That was a mistake! Anyways, we decided to try A.W. again (that's where we should of gone when we updated) with our latest reno. My husband is a researcher, so prior to going he/we already knew what appliances we wanted. We went to A.W. and spoke with Tony (SO THANKFUL WE DID! ) He didn't have the appliances we were looking for but could certainly order them for us. Perfect! Fridge & Range came in direct from Manufacturing warehouse. The guys delivered it, unboxed it in my driveway. Let's just say they don't build things the way they used to! Called Tony, no problem, he immediately ordered us replacements. Long story short, Tony nor Appliance Warehouse could help how the manufacturer made these products. BUT it was Tony and his handling of our nightmarish problems that SAVED the day! 3 fridges, 3 stoves and 1 dishwasher later and we have the products that we are happy with. TONY SAVED THE DAY! I know beyond a doubt that the customer service we received from him we would NOT have gotten at a big box store. I CERTAINLY hope that his supervisors & boss know what an asset he is to there business!!! Tony, you need start a school on Customer Service! Very frustrated by a couple of aspects of Appliance Warehouse’s services. We ordered a fridge from them with the understanding delivery wouldn’t be for another nine days. Our fridge was on its last leg, but we figured it could make it just that long. Noon the day before delivery, we were told the fridge was back ordered another two months. I completely understand they rely on suppliers, Supply Chains are in disarray right now, and the pushed back order wasn’t their fault; however I have two very big grievances with how this situation was handled from that point: 1. Why did they wait so long to tell us about the extended back order? That was precious time we lost and we were left scrambling because the fridge at that point really was gone. 2. They charged my credit card before the fridge had even shipped to them. I find that an unprofessional and made this whole situation ever more complicated. The sales guy I worked with was apologetic and handled my frustrations well (I know it wasn’t his fault specifically), but the only thing he was willing to do for me was offer a smaller fridge at the same price I had already paid or an awful color. All around, we are so frustrated by this experience which left our family for a week without a refrigerator just as the weather turned hot and we’re still in quarantine trying to limit grocery trips. I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews, but the lack of transparency and their audacity to charge such a large amount on my credit card without shipping confirmation has inspired me to warn others against Appliance Warehouse if they are in a similar situation with...

Chose Appliance Warehouse on my sister's recommendation after shopping around at a few other places. No frills showroom but what they have, they stand by and have in stock. Sales team (Jim) are very helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Price includes local delivery. They are very upfront on exactly what the cost is and what they can do for you. They take your old appliances away with them for $40 an appliance. They set up your new appliance. All I had to do was turn them on and use. Delivery was available three days after purchase and delivery was seamless, punctual and professional. They came exactly when they said they would come and even called me to confirm thirty minutes prior to their arrival. I told them I was a widow and all I wanted to do was write the check haha. They were in and out in thurty minutes, washer and dryer all hooked up, ready for me to use. I highly recommend them. Do not go to Agrens, they are wayyyyy overpriced.
