Chestnut/Treeside Christmas Lights — Local services in South San Francisco

When I was growing up this used to be the best to come see. Then I had kids and had the same tradition. Now we may go but the tradition is gone, at least fir this area. I live up in the Serramonte area and from our front window I can see the decorations if that block but sadly, its definitely NOT as bright as I remember. When these houses were first built, I (heard) that it was mandatory thru their HOA to decorate . That could have been a rumor, but thats what I remember. Every house for the longest time decorated. There was wood cutouts of snow that adorned every house to make it kind of uniformed but each house and homeowner went all out with the rest of the decor. The line going up towards the cul-de-sac 2 block area was crazy and the amount of ppl driving and walking the blocks was truly amazing to see. The police eventually has to be used to direct traffic. I agree from another review that a lot of the home owners must have moved away or maybe still live there but older and its quite an undertaking to decorate this way. I also think that if it was a HOA rule to do this with the original home owners, that maybe they really can't emand and enforce sy h a clause in the agreement any more for a number of reasons. The homeowner may not want ti because they don't believe in doing this, if the dont celebrate or they have different religious beliefs I give lots of props and 5 stars to the ones that have carried on the tradition though. This neighborhood seems to have lost its spirit... only a couple houses on the first block were decorated. The 2nd block was totally dark... the homes that do participate use the same decorations every year since I was a kid. We should start a go fund me so they can refresh their inventory. I wouldn't mind contributing since I've been visiting their neighborhood since i was a kid... The Star Wars house turned it up this...

Dec. 23 2022 it's been a few years since the last I visited the Christmas display in this neighborhood . But tonight was disappointing only a few houses had the Christmas Lights on . I remembered it being much more decorative in the past . But at least four homes had very Beautiful and Artistic displays Stars Lego display was a favorite as well as the Christmas 🎄...
