This company went above and beyond with their customer service. I've purchased custom mats from them several times and always been impressed with the quality of mats and their quick turn around. Unfortunately, my latest order was stolen off my front porch. I learned this when I checked on the status of the order and learned it had already been delivered. They sent me the photo and it was clearly my front porch. I did need the mats but hesitated about reordering since the same thing could happen again, doubling my loss. I was told that they would send a replacement order with signature required. With that added protection, I agreed. To my surprise, it was then I learned I would not be charged for the replacement! Imagine my surprise! They had done nothing wrong. Yet they cared about me as a customer and refilled and reshipped the order at no cost to me. When I began my career as a professional fine art nature photographer six years ago, I was cutting my own mats and back boards, but as my business grew, I realized that I couldn't keep up with doing all of my own mat-cutting anymore, and I needed an affordable source of pre-cut mats. I discovered Golden State Art five years ago, and I have been using them ever since. Their products and service are the best value that I've found anywhere in the country, and it's actually more affordable to order their mats and boards than to cut my own from scratch, so it's really a no-brainer. I live in Massachusetts, and I'm willing to order from a company that's 3000 miles away, so that tells you something about how much I trust them. Awful company. I ordered my mats on the 4th for a photography final due on the 12th. 20 dollars in shipping costs later, the website says they ship with in 2 business days, and west coast destinations should arrive in 2 days from shipping. Few days go by, I get no email about them shipping, so i email them on about the 7th to make sure they were shipped. Someone emails me back asking for a order number. I get back to them with the order number within an hour and never heard from them again. Finally, i call on the 10th to see what is going on. They told me the order STILL hadn't shipped but they can tell the warehouse to ship it. Why not tell the warehouse to ship it when the order is placed? The person didnt seem at all interested in my issue. I just canceled the order and cut my losses. Will never use this company again. Theyll charge you a ton for shipping and then take...
