While I cannot speak to all Ulta locations, the Southbury location’s management team is some of the rudest, most unprofessional people I’ve ever met. On two separate occasions upon visiting the store with my toddler who is very well behaved, (but all kids touch and look at things...) I was treated like I’d brought a dog into the store. I’ve visited other times and watched the staff glare at other moms with children in tow as well. It’s as if they’ve forgotten that not only is a LARGE percentage of their clientele women, but of that large percentage, many of those women have children. Some women are single, some do not have help, and having your child with you shouldn’t be a reason to be treated badly while shopping. My second attempt with my toddler will probably be the last time I shop at this location, and that’s sad seeing as its local for me. I brought in a tiny cart as he was already in it, as we’d been shopping in the plaza and was RUDELY AND LOUDLY told I couldn’t have it in store. No offer for help, no explanation of why, no nothing. Basically, just get out immediately. Mindblown, upset and angry, I left the store. Not only was the encounter embarrassing, it could have, and should have been handled differently. It was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. You’ve no signage on your store stating no carts and no way to help out a parent in the event they come alone, or on a whim trying to be respectful and contain their child... not every parent has the luxury of a stroller, or the ability to just go shopping without their child. I have NEVER been asked to leave a store because of a cart. NEVER. If it’s a space issue, let me remind you that wheelchairs are larger and will not fit in your store either... or maybe people in them should leave them outside as well? But that’s ok, as you “understand it’s inconvenient”. Moms beware, spread the word... they don’t want your kids here. Super...
Read moreDO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION. The store manager and supervisor are some of the rudest most disrespectful people I have ever spoken to. I was at this store around mid October. I went in to purchase a gift (two perfumes by Le Monde Gourmand). Unfortunately, due to a register malfunction, I was charged twice for this purchase. I noticed immediately after leaving this location that I was double charged, and returned to the store no more than 10 minutes later. The cashier as well as the store manager were made aware and given proof of my double charge. I was told there was nothing they could do, and to contact both my bank as well as their guest services. I was directed by my bank to receive my refund through guest services, and have been dealing with them now since mid October. Each time I have spoken to guest services, I am told to wait 10-14 business days for my refund, which has been ongoing now for about two months. I decided to reach out directly to the store (now in mid December) in hopes of having a resolution, but was faced with cruel, disrespectful and condescending treatment from the stores supervisor. They told me I was aggressive, and hung the phone up on me, when I never once raised my voice or used profane language. I was told that I could bring back the items, but only receive a refund for one charge instead of both. They refuse to even store credit me without returning the items. The employees at this store are rude, unprofessional and condescending to their paying customers. They steal money from hardworking people with no intentions of returning/refunding. I have never had a worse experience than what I have dealt with at Ulta in Southbury. Do not shop here if you value your money and time. They do not care about their customers and will not return money to you, even if they know their the ones who...
Read moreI loved the woman that helped me, she was incredibly knowledgeable and didn't try to rush me out, even though closing time was relatively close. She was very patient as I changed my mind about things and tried different products on me.
I did end up spending more money than I anticipated which I was fine with in the moment... However after 2 weeks of wearing it here and there... I am really not satisfied with all of the products that were purchased. I do intend to return a few things, but I also hope to find things that better suit what I need.
I was turned on to a specific product by L'Oreal for my eyebrows and absolutely loved it, however after like 3 uses it just doesn't work the same any more it looks so dry/worn out. I also had bought a foundation from MAC that claims it's waterproof but definitely comes right off, if it becomes the tiniest bit wet. Whether from rain or tears. On warmer days, not even summer hot just like 75-80°, it appears to simply melt off my face... I went to class and sat in class for only 4 hours and when I came out it literally had melted of parts of my face. I do love how it looks when it's first applied, but I can't fathom spending the amount it costs when it doesn't even last a few hours let alone a full day of wear.
Now these aren't things I hold against the employees, as I don't believe it to be their fault. However these are things that I definitely am not satisfied with and hope to find better products from them...
