Opulence of Southern Pines — Local services in Southern Pines

As a past owner of a retail store (35 yrs), I try to support local businesses. Lydia (store manager) and Lily, (sales associate)were a delight to work with. The ONE STAR review comes from what follows. I ordered $2,3000 worth of bed linens and was never once told that it was not returnable. After having tried to return one piece of my purchase, I was then shown a SMALL sign by the register & informed this was stated on the sales receipt. Yes, this is my fault for not asking about the return policy, BUT I find it absolutely horrifying that I was not informed of this before making such a large purchase. As I mentioned, as a previous owner of a small retail store (store is still in business), I know the importance of customer service - hence, a quite mention to buyer before the sale of the store policy. The odd thing is...YOU CAN ORDER THIS PRODUCT STRAIGHT FORM THE MANUFACTURER AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. YOU CAN RETURN THE PRODUCT. EASY - NO PROBLEM. No need to support local business. Walk in, pursue the merchandise & fabric selection and then go home and order it yourself directly from company of your choice. While this certainly goes against what I believe, in the future I will do this without a second thought. With FOUR more bedrooms to buy linens for - I will never make this costly mistake again.

I wish I remembered the employees’ names! My husband and I visited your store together where I got ideas from your sales person for gifts, but we did not buy. Yet, the questions she asked and ideas and enthusiasm about the ideas shared, stuck with me. To my delight, when I returned less than a week later, the sales lady was there who helped me initially with great ideas for my sister-in-law. We also found more gifts for my Mother- in-law. I am so excited to gift their thoughtful gifts, all because your sales person took the time with me. Also, the unexpected yet over the top holiday wrappings by another employee were so nice too! I can’t wait for my sister-in-law and Mom-in-law to open these! Thank you! ...

They have decent products but you can find the same thing half price elsewhere. The service is at best marginal in the store, all the associates want to do is press items on you. $250 for a bar of soap? Are you kidding?!!

A few days ago, went to go shop for sheets and found the sheets you sell on Amazon (like you claim you cannot) for 32.6% less. You can also buy sheets from yvonne-estelles for...
