Southern Whey — Local services in Southern Pines

This is an adorable little shop that offers a wide variety of cheeses, charcuterie board options, sandwiches, and drinks (including wine by the glass or by the bottle). Stopped in yesterday to get a specific kind of cheese and walked out with quite a bit more! The people working were polite and informative when I asked what I’m sure were silly cheese-related questions. During the covid lockdown the store is still open- with limited hours- and they only allow three customers in at a time to make sure everyone can stay at least 6’ apart (plus changed checkout procedures to keep employees and customers safe)! Where do I start with Southern Whey.... not only are the owners extremely knowledgeable, the customer service is always above and beyond. Anytime that I may need to have a cheese tray/food for an event, they are ALWAYS my go-to. I trust their expert opinions on ALL cheese and wine related knowledge and look forward to their creations on my cheese boards. Also, If you ever have the chance to attend one of their cheese and wine pairings, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! At their brick and mortar, they will always help you with any cheese and charcuterie needs, along with whipping up an awesome deli sandwich expertly paired with a glass of wine. We ordered our food to be delivered on a Sunday. We ordered allot two or three weeks out. I made initial contact and my wife dealt with the rest of the details. Both my wife and I experienced friendly service throughout the process.

The food was delivered, setup on a propositioned table with an incredible assortment of treats (cheeses, sports, crackers, meats, etc). Angela and Pam were great and set up everything and slipped out quietly. Great decorative flowers were included in the display.

Everything looked great, and tasted even better.
