I was going to FACE for about 2 years ā Botox, Sculptra, filler.
I decided to get laser this past February, after going through 3 Sculptra appointments last year and still wanting better results. I was originally quoted for 3 sessions of UltraClear laser + spot treatment with a different laser (forgot the name), at around $800-ish per session. But when I showed up for the 1st appointment, the woman I did my consult withāwho was also supposed to do my laserāno longer worked there. I had a new person Iād never met, who had never discussed any of my skin concerns. She told me theyād just do a āone and doneā high-intensity session⦠for $3,500.
I asked multiple times while being prepped if that was right because it felt expensive and also excessive, but I trusted them and ended up paying it. That also included a $500 stem cell treatment applied post-laser with barely any explanation. Oh, and you also need to purchase the $150 post-laser kit (at this point, Iāve spent so much money there that I canāt even remember if the pre/post laser facial pads they want you wiping with are included in that priceābut they were around $100 or something). I also wasnāt made aware of any of that at my original consultation.
Another problem is that this harsh laser treatment was done only 2 weeks after I got $1,200 worth of filler and Botoxāsomething Iāve since learned should never be done that close together. During healing, my lips started to show clear filler migration, my face looked off, and my Botox⦠wasnāt doing much of anything.
So at my 8-week post-laser checkup, I brought up all of my concerns. And honestly? I wasnāt happy with the laser results either. I maybe had a 10% improvement in texture, minimal change in pores, tightness, or wrinkles. Instead of offering a real fix, I was pushed toward a very expensive āmermaid facialā that was supposed to magically correct everything.
Since I was due for injections anyway, I went back the following week for more Botox and filler. Yet again spending $1200 - and I saw a different aesthetician who tried to āeven things outāāwithout any dissolverāand instead injected more filler into the right side of my face. That made it puffier and visibly gave me a ridge at the top of my cheek, under my eye. It made me look even more unbalanced and off. She also tried to correct the lip migration with a lip flip and injected my chin area with Botox to see if that would help.
Now, 3 months later, Iāve never been so unhappy and frustrated with my faceāor felt so dismissed when asking for help. I finally went and got a second opinion, and was told that laser that close to filler is a known cause of migration and that my injections should have never been done in that timeline.
Everything was rushed, stacked, and overpriced. Every time I raised a concern, I was met with another upsell instead of real care or accountability. I walked in trying to fix small issuesāand walked out with new ones that were completely avoidable. I wish I had trusted my gut sooner. FACE gave me the wrong treatments for my facial goals without any...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never had had acne as a teenager and when I hit my ā20s, I began to face struggles with my complexion. I visited countless dermatologists and I tried all types of products, and I never saw results. I was battling this frustrating problem for over three years before I discovered FACE SkincareMedicalWellness in November 2012. I had so many skin center choices to choose from here in metro Detroit, Michigan but FACE stood out to me for many reasons. Founder Holly CaSaroll suffered from cystic acne herself as a teen, and she rebuilt her own skin. She has committed the last 15 years working as an esthetician to provide innovative skincare solutions. Her inspiring success story gave me hope. As a member of the media, itās very difficult for me to have social downtime, so Holly personalized a treatment plan to conquer my complexion concerns yet suit my busy lifestyle. From chemical peels to the Pearl Laser treatment, Holly continued to monitor and modify my regimen according to my skinās progress. I truly value the one-on-one attention, as opposed to just being another patient ID number. Although I was tackling my skin issues on the surface, I needed to get to the root of the problem so I visited Cutler Integrative Medicine, which is located in the same center as FACE. Dr. Doug Cutler helped address the internal components linked to my skincare problems. He suggested that I do a food sensitivity panel to find out what foods I may react to. I learned that even healthy foods, such as fruits and vegetables, could cause inflammatory responses that may lead to acne, rosacea and even eczema. According to my food sensitivity panel results, Iām reactive to gluten, dairy and eggs, as well as specific items, such as blueberries. My experience with Dr. Cutler inspired me to alter my dietary lifestyle to better my skin and myself. After eliminating any food sensitivities, and keeping up with Hollyās recommended treatments and at-home beauty rituals, Iāve noticed a drastic improvement with my complexion. I barely have active acne anymore, and my skin feels refreshed and rejuvenated. With Holly and Dr. Cutlerās help, I can finally put my best...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start by saying, I have been struggling with acne since I was 14. I had scarring on my forehead and on my cheeks. I have tried EVERY treatment out there besides accutane for my acne. I have tried Trentinon, multiple chemical peels, theraclear, c02 laser, vampire facials, hydrofacials, I mean everything. I saw FACE on an Instagram ad and I called them up, had a consultation and then scheduled my treatment.
I got the Morpheus treatment and then the DEEP Alma Hybrid treatment (same day) They took me back immediately and gave me numbing cream to numb my face with, I then got my blood taken for the treatment and then I went to have my treatment.
Donatella was my skin expert. (Shes the best!) First off, the actual treatment takes 30 minutes WITHOUT breaks. My appointment was at 9:30am and the whole appointment took 2 1/2 hours. I did take quite a few breaks because it was so painful.
Donatella was great though, she let me have breaks, let me ask whatever questions I needed to ask, and she was okay with all my "how much longer" & "do we have to do my whole face?" questions which I know were probably annoying, as she is just trying to do her job, but man, I wasn't prepared for that amount of pain.
However, I am on my way to clear skin and couldn't be more excited for my results!! š¤©
My overall experience with the whole FACE office has been nothing but amazing so far, again just excited to see my results! š
Disclaimer: I have been using brightening toner wipes, and all the creams and retinol treatments they gave me pre treatment for at least a month so this was NOT my first appointment with FACE. I did a consultation first which is what their standard of care is (for anyone interested in this treatment specifically)
Update 5/15 - its been about two months since my original post where I got Morpheous + Deep Alma Hybrid and although my skin isnt perfect yet, its getting there! I have achieved clearer skin then before and its all thanks to the experts at FACE!
Pictures below are of me a week before alma hybrid and then second picture is of this morning,...
