My music teacher was wonderful but the whole "absence token" program they offer is very frustrating. I was taking weekly 30 min lessons and due to a work schedule change I had to miss a few classes. Rather than letting you book with the teacher for a new time, you have to take a lesson from another student who is missing lesson. So if none of the make up times work for you then you just end up with bunch of useless "absence tokens". This happened to me so frequently I decided to cancel lessons. You have to give 30 day notice, which I provided but I was told after that 30 days I would lose all my makeup lessons as well. I was offered to sign up for their "flex plan" which gives you basically 2 more "absence tokens" that you can use for the month. So I signed up for the flex plan (this was after I'd given 30 day notice already to cancel my main plan) and used all my tokens. Then after the 30 days I was charged again for this flex plan. No one told me the flex plan was another contracted plan that would require an ADDITIONAL cancelation form. I could not get anyone to call me back regarding getting a refund for over 2 weeks. Finally I was offered a "free" lesson but no refund and I was told I would no longer be charged if I filled out another cancelation form. This was apparently also a lie because I was charged again the next month. Dealing with the school has been the worst experience. I would highly recommend finding a musician on your own and paying for private lessons as it will save you money and hassle.

If you seek a place that teachs music with love and care this is NOT THE PLACE. My son who have been with creative souls for a year for private guitar lessons broke his arm and had a surgery that will require 2 months for recovery. We contacted them to put his lessons on hold for those months till he return back. The response I received was nothing to describe but “not professional, not flexible, non sense” I was offered absence tokens for those two months I let them know that I already have a previous 5 absence tokens that proven to be IMPOSSIBLE to use because the spots offered either don’t work time wise for the school season or the instructors are not doing his instrument. I of course won’t have more of those tokens. Let alone that whoever handled our call didn’t even bother asking about my son or wishing him recovery or any sort of this but also she told us that our options are limited to those useless tokens or filing a termination request that takes 30 days to stop the payment meaning that we will pay for a whole month with no classes + losing our 5 absences tokens we already had as we can’t use them with our account being suspended. Totally not fair or acceptable. it became very clear to us that they see their students as a 30 minute session and monthly payment only THEY DON’T CARE about the families or students they serve. I’m an adult student who has been taking uke and voice lessons for three months. I’ve also participated in the adult “Band With a Twist” event which is a total blast. I cannot say enough good things about how impactful this program has been for me. I’ve taken lessons on and off throughout childhood with many teachers, but those experiences do not compare to music lessons here. They have given me much more confidence in so many other areas of life. I feel like a new person and with more purpose than ever before. The teachers they have equip you with just the right amount of encouragement and praise while also delivering correction in a way that just makes me better and better. I could not get that in the past from others. I love that I can experiment with different teachers and instruments too to be well rounded. The makeup classes are awesome and totally free (where I was last I had to pay an upcharge to get into a similar class). This is the most progress I’ve ever made and in such a small amount of time!
