We’ve been coming to Shogun for 10 years. This was a Thursday night. We brought my twins to dinner for their bday last night and it was truly the worst experience ever. First off, the prices are getting out of hand. For the food portions, they give about 1/2 rice they used to. There’s a $3 up-charge for frying the rice, there’s a $3 charge for noodles if you choose to have instead of rice - when you’re paying $38 for ONE person why am I being up charged for something that should be coming with our meal? One lady that was at our table even commented about how little rice he was putting on plates. Our chef didn’t say two words to the table last night aside from asking how people wanted their steak. Zero interaction with anyone! Not even to ask if anyone wanted sauce. My son asked for yum yum sauce 2X and got none. While all the other tables were having a blast with their chef, getting the table to participate, cheering, trying to throw food to people, there weren’t words spoken to anyone at our table! I hadn’t eaten 3 bites of my food and they were already coming over with the to-go boxes and checks trying to rush us out of there. They stood there like hawks waiting for us to put our credit cards in the folder so they could come charge our cards and even at one point, the lady next to me said “she’s come over here to take check 2X already, maybe give me a min”. She was annoyed too. There are lots of reviews with this same experience. You’d think they do something about it. It’s incredibly RUDE! I went up to speak to the manager and was told there was no manager there. I explained to the lady my disappointment and she just shrugged me off and said “there’s no manager here”. Moments later, our waitress came to the table and very rudely and loudly said “is there and issue with your bill”?! I walked with her over to the register (as she rolled her eyes) and explained all over again what I had just told the other woman. She was incredibly rude, unapologetic and didn’t care. When you take your children on their birthday to hibachi and pay $200 before adding a tip for 4 people, this kind of service is...

We had a friends birthday dinner here tonight. Two people in the party have shellfish allergies. We made the server aware of this before we ordered anything. She said she would let the chef know. She did not tell him, so he proceeded to cook the steak right after cooking the shrimp. The server told the chef as he was cooking. The chef then proceeds to keep cooking without any caution about the allergies. He puts the steak on the plates of the two people with allergies after being told about the allergies. What??? Why would you do that? People can die from anaphylactic shock or get very sick due to an allergic reaction. It was a mess, and both people were concerned about eating their food. They made zero effort to correct the problem. This is not okay. Please listen to your customers and do not be serving food that could cause serious harm to someone with allergies! We let you know before we even ordered, so there are no excuses for this. Lastly, many of us ordered our beef medium or medium rare. It was definitely cooked more like done and chewy with no pink in any of it. Once again, please listen to what was ordered. He even reviewed it with us before cooking and still overcooked it. I am just disappointed and will not be back. That’s a lot of money for...

We came in around 8:45 on a Tuesday night. The chef was incredible, kind, and made excellent food. The food was so good (one of the best hibachi I have had in awhile). However, our server Shaeha was incredibly rude. She came over several separate times to pick up the check after I said that we weren’t done eating yet and hadn’t had a chance to look at the bill. She sent another server over to the table while we were still eating before the official close time of 9:30 and demanded that we pay the bill. I said that we were still eating and we would pay for dinner when we were done. She told me she needed it now to finish closing and I said no again. This was incredibly rude, and will make me not come back. If it was quite a few minutes after 9:30, I would understand asking for us to pay the bill so they could go home. However, we still had forks in our hands and it was not closing time yet. This is incredibly unprofessional. All of the service staff was staring at us the entire time. If the staff wants to leave early before closing time and is going to be rude to people who are eating their meal before the restaurant closes, they should adjust the closing time to 9 pm or work...

Disappointment. We had sushi only. Ordered 2 beers, delivered without mugs. Asked for frosty mugs. Received 1 chilled, 1 room temp. Wanted to try spicy edamame. Out was streamed with just seasoning sprinkled heavily on top, not marinated in. Difficult to eat since it was basically like eating from a seasoning bottle. Ordered sushi - confusion with tables and our sushi was delivered, and started by another table. Finally received full order. The sushi bites were huge. Nearly impossible to fit the bite into your mouth. Way, way too big! Rolls were sliced in to 6 pieces, should have been 8. Also, never received actual sushi plates. Had to ask for soy sauce dipping bowls. Was told they should be on the table - agree - but they weren't! The waitress never visited the table again. I had to walk to the bar to get a water refill. Plates never cleared, bar order never taken part first beer, etc. Very poor service. For a $100 meal for two, I expect a lot more.

Empty and slow. We sat at the sushi bar and everything was dirty. When he put my sushi in the microwave I was done right there! Luckily we didn’t get sick but we didn’t eat much either. 10/10 do not recommend this place unless you do maybe hibachi but I didn’t see any excitement on the 1 table being served. Plastic plates with the design flaking off on the plate into food. The sushi chef rings a bell when the food is ready that bell is the dirtiest thing I’ve ever seen then he touches your food again. I watched him wipe the hair from his head with his gloved hand then touch the sushi. Everything behind that bar was caked in nasty. The glass shelves have a solid layer of dust on them. We got the boat for 2 and the chef chose his “specialty” roll as a California roll. With toppings. Just gross!

Usually have good luck with Japanese restaurants doing other cuisines and excelling on their take of the dish. Well, not in this case. Ordered the chateaubriand and Long Island Tea. Came out quite a bit different than what I expected. Hardly any beef and they were diced up with mixed in shrimp. The lobster add on was uninspired and prawn sized. The extra charge fried rice was gummy and mushy, looks and feels like a chop suey dish. The buttery note was mostly drowned out with the dark burnt sauce. Washing it down with the LIT was unpleasant. Tasted like a premix on ice. Service was fast but impersonal. Not the best bang for my buck. Should have gone Outback.
