Southport ABC Store — Local services in Southport

Went in About 30 minutes before closing although I did not realize they closed so early. We felt a little rushed and our meal showed signs of the kitchen staff rushing as well. My meal was less than mediocre. I ordered crab stuffed salmon with caper sauce. When I received my meal the crab cake that should have been stuffed in the salmon was haphazardly thrown on the plate as if it was an afterthought and there was not even enough to stuff the salmon if they had done it correctly. Now what was supposed to be caper sauce came out as hollendaise sauce and so much it was overwhelming. I brought the mistake to the attention to who I must assume was the manager and instead of owning it o the mistake he made excuses all he had to do was own the mistake and I would have let the situation be, but no he had to make excuses. There is nothing I hate more than someone not owning their mistakes. I don’t send food back unless I completely intend not to eat it for reasons I will not post here. for you bourbon hunters and whiskey nerds, add this store to your stop list. the best ABC store I’ve visited within VA and NC (and I’ve been to a lot of them). this is the only ABC store in a control state that I’ve seen with a designated wall for store picks including Woodford Double Oaked, Ezra Brooks Cask Strength, Yellowstone, and Stranahan’s. other uncommon bottles that I saw were Smoke Wagon Uncut/Unfiltered, Barrell Vantage, and Hardin’s Creek Colonel Beam. I picked up the Yellowstone 119 proof single barrel store pick and it’s amazing! similar flavor profile to Old Ezra 7 and McKenna 10. highly recommend if you like the Heaven Hill flavor...

Larger selection than Oak Island, but mostly just liquor

The Southport ABC store is newer and more spacious than the one on Oak Island, which means a larger liquor selection overall. If you’re looking for spirits, this is a great stop. They also carry some sparkling drinks if they include alcohol (like canned cocktails), but don’t expect beer, IPAs, or wine—you’ll need to go elsewhere for that.
