Designer's Edge Salon and Spa — Local services in Southwick

I have only just moved to Southwick recently so I am in search of a good, honest and professional new hair stylist. I had heard a lot of positive reviews about DE and looked them up and saw they had a good reputation online too. I looked on their website and saw that what I wanted (foil, color, cut and style) was about $135 with a $20 coupon for 1st time clients. GREAT!I made an appointment and then needed to cancel, however they were awesome and switched me with someone else on earlier so I could keep it! The day of my appointment I get there at my start time and wait a few mins for my turn. I found a pic on their website of the EXACT color I wanted and brought it with me and was lucky to get the stylist who had done the original color, KY. I showed her the pic, and she was super confused because she thought I was just getting a haircut. Turns out they never actually put me on the schedule and left it open so someone had GIVEN away my spot. Ok....accidents happen no big deal. I’m sure they’ll make it right with a discount right? They asked me to come back in an hour. Fast forward....I show Ky my pic....we discussed that I wanted exactly what I saw and she said she got it and mixed her colors. Fast forward to the blow out. My hair looked nothing like the pic, in fact it’s nearly the opposite of it. I said this to her and she said “‘I didn’t want to go too dark with you because you are a new client and I don’t know you, next time we can add more darker highlights if you want” Ummmm......I WANTED my hair DARK this time!! I am not one to cause a scene and in the grand scheme of things it does look good. So I politely said thank you, I tipped KY $30 and went up to pay. Ky told the person behind the desk (the owner I think) what she had done and I was charged $190 minus the $20 new client coupon for a total of $170!!! Are you serious right now?!? I am so beyond upset. I did NOT get the color I wanted (thought I am happy with the color— it IS very nice—she did do a beautiful job—that is not in question) I had to wait and come back because they messed up their books and now I’m being charged WAY WAY more than their WEBSITE quotes. If Ky is more expensive that should have been told to me up front. Because it was NOT a $190 ($170) haircut/color. I will NOT be going back their. I feel cheated and...

I love Designer’s Edge Salon & Spa in Southwick MA, and this is why. I worked in Boston and commuted for many years and got my hair cut there, at the time is was more convenient. I now work from home here in western mass. I needed to find a good place to get my hair cut.

I tried a few places but being very picky about my hair I continued to look for a nice place with good hairdressers, convenient and good customer service.

A family friend suggested I try Designer’s Edge in Southwick. I made an appointment with Ky, and immediately got a text confirming the appointment, it was a nice touch reminding me and also the are as committed as I am.

I arrived for my appointment and was greeted by a friendly receptionist; Ky was right on time for me and I got a great haircut. I love the location, ample parking and friendly maner of all the employees. I recommend that you try Designers Edge and ask for Ky. George DeMambro Cost...

So i was told on Tuesday before I came to the salon that they we’re having a deal for the Brazilian blowout that the price would be 175$ and that will be the set price and when I arrive she did my hair and I felt like I couldn’t breathe and my eye were burning I think the salon should have provided mask and glasses because of all the harsh chemicals but my hair did come out straight but I had little hairs sticking up and she tried to put hairspray but that didn’t work afterwards I went to check out and the lady charged me 225$ I explained to her that the lady on the phone told me it would be a set price of 175$ and the front desk lady seemed confused and told me new clients get a discount of 50$ off for the Brazilian blowout . I feel like I was cheated out on the price and I would never ever come to this salon ever again their robbers and I would certainly not recommend this...
