We came up on this antique store by accident. It looked very promising. It did not disappoint. However, the older guy that quickly came to watch my husband and I was a bit weird. I know, know my husband is 6’3 buff and covered in tattoos and I am Latina covered in tattoos and not the typical Spanish fork folks. My husband tried to make small talk with him but he was not interested. I asked him about two pieces of furniture and his response was “I don’t know” I commented on how cool the store was and he just stared at me, mumbling under his breath. This mans bad attitude was not going to keep us from looking around. Skip to us checking out. The lady who rang us up was extremely polite. I noticed a set of vintage silverware on the counter next to the register. I could tell they were antiques. I wanted to verify the authenticity of the age so asked the lady ringing us up “are these 1940’s or 1930’s?” A lady sitting at a desk 6 ft or so in front of me pipes in with “yes, they are Bakelite” she acted very annoyed I would ask the year. I asked a follow up question that she did not answer. Pardon me ma’am, I didn’t mean to offend you with my knowledge of vintage/antiques. This is without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had in decades of buying antiques. We were stupid not to check out the small table before we paid cash. The people there had put on a runner and a bunch of knick knacks. There was no place to place them and pull the runner. We've never had a negative experience at an established antique business in a small town. So, my husband paid cash (over a hundred dollars). Then the sales clerk followed us down and unloaded all the items on top. There was a huge split across the whole top of the table. When we tried to move it, we found it very wobbly. I was ready to get our money back and leave. My husband is more trusting and the clerk said it would be an easy fix. When we got it home, we found it had been hobbled together with Elmer's Glue, Gorilla glue, some nails and broken off screws. It is a piece of scrap that cannot be repaired for under $200, and then it would still be a broken piece of junk. We are keeping it in our home, as a warning to others about this shop. One look at this piece and our story about the glassy eyed employee, that helped make it happen, makes the point. Shame on the person who owns this business and shame on us for giving them our money. We love confetti's! So many cool finds. Although, I'm very disappointed with the dishonesty that we experienced. My husband purchased me a necklace and a ring for my birthday. The lady we spoke with assured us that they were real gold, real goals, and a real pearl and that they check all of their jewelry. This wasn't the stuff on the counter that is very clearly fake. These were locked up, and we asked more than once if they were real, and she was adamant that they were.

Fast forward to my birthday, and within an hour, the ring had already turned my finger green and the "pearl" is wrapped in some weird paper to make it look like a pearl, and is certainly not real. I understand that it is an antique store, and they don't make the jewelry personally, but I'm very disappointed that she claimed that all of the jewelry is checked, and this is just very very...
