Spanish Fort Goodwill is normally one of my 'Go to' thrift stores. Yesterday was the second time we have visited in the past 6 months that the dressing rooms were not available. The reasonable assumption is that now all of the big retailers have opened their dressing rooms, that Goodwill would now have their dressing rooms open as well . After all, 90% of their inventory is clothing. I had 2 employees state they were getting rid of the fitting rooms altogether due to COVID. I explained that I am in healthcare, and that the guidelines are pretty simple for cleaning with bleach solutions, or Alcohol solutions, and that additionally all the other retailers have reopened. They apologized but stated I could get a store credit for any items that don't fit. I explained that I live 20 mins away, and that gas is too expensive to purchase and drive home just to hope something fits and drive back 20 mins. I asked if they could just reduce the number of fitting rooms to make more manageable for employees. ( And I was polite through the conversation: no demands, not a Karen) They gave me upper management number so that I could advocate for the fitting rooms staying. Jenny called me the next day, she stated that fitting rooms are closing due to staffing, not COVID. I told her that I appreciate that they give credit for items that don't fit, but that still seems to invalidate time and gas money spent, when I could just try on clothing at store. I told her that it is too big of a chance to take with my money and will affect not only my future trips to Goodwill, but will decide to donate instead to other thrifts in area that are keeping fitting rooms open. She was extremely polite ,stating she understood, but that it was a corporate decision to close them. She told me she would pass on my urging to reconsider for the comfort of the customers that come in. This is really sad for me, this was my favorite store, but I won't be patroning them with my donations, or purchases as long as fitting rooms remain closed, and that the time I spent driving to your store...
Read moreWas shopping in there Thursday morning, now mind you I go in there 2-3 times a week and average around $500 each week that I spend in there it’s basically a hobby thing for me always looking for that one thing lol. But the issue was there was a certain item I picked up and put it in my buggy shopped around for about an hour got to the checkout after standing in line the cashier she’s always so nice and friendly but one of the assistants walked up after I handed the ticket off that item and he refused to sell it to me for the price was marked and signed so he came around the register and removed it from my buggy which was rude, and disrespectful to me in front of all the customers that was in line. So yes I reported him and the store manager was amazing at taking care of the issue. All of this stuff is donated so understand that !!!! Needless to say I went back in there and got that item for what the ticket said...
Read moreI shop here quite frequently. I just would really love to see prices to be dropped, I come there a lot shopping for others less fortunate, who can't even afford to shop here. It's just sad , because myself and others donate things hoping to help those less fortunate. But find out that it seems like the goodwill is way over priced, for the poor. Also I was here 2 weeks ago picking up an armoire i purchased and I approached a gentleman who was pricing some televisions he had just brought from the back, I told him I wanted to purchase this particular TV if he can price it for me, he told me it was already sold.... Sold?I replied, but it hasn't been priced yet! He said yea sorry! Well.... obviously he had plans of purchasing it for himself, which I find very disturbing to then place a sold tag while I'm standing in front of him. Well, I would love to see the goodwill live up to their name for what they are supposed...
