My wife and I ate here today, choosing Ohana partly because of the overall great reviews. All too often, reviews lead us to expectations a restaurant can't meet, but not in this case. We're stuck between a "4" and a "5". If we could, we'd say 4.5. We had the gyoza, which was pretty much everything you can expect of gyoza, with a delicious and interesting dipping sauce. We also had the egg rolls. Those are unusually small, but absolutely packed with flavor, as well as having a good texture. I had a "salmon lover's bowl", while my wife had a "tuna lover's bowl". At first, I thought there wasn't much fish in there, because there was a moderate collection of it in one part, but it turned out to have more scattered throughout the bowl, a pretty generous serving overall. The quality of the fish was outstanding, both the salmon and the tuna. The rest of the bowl ingredients were also fresh and delicious, well chosen for a balance of colors, flavors, and textures. I didn't feel any interest in adding a sauce to the bowl, it was just that good on its own. The description claimed it had crab meat, but we're pretty sure that was imitation crab, not the real thing. Still tasty, though. The pricing was about what you'd expect, given the quality and quantity of food. With the above, plus a couple of coconut drinks, we paid about $50 ($25/person) before tip. If we're in that area again, we'll be sure to stop in again. If you like fresh sashimi-quality fish, in a well-constructed poke bowl, I thoroughly recommend Ohana...
Read moreI really did not want to leave a bad review but this place got myself and my three coworkers sick. Ate here around 1pm, it’s 9pm and I’ve been in bed since getting home very sick. Puking, upset stomach, cold sweats. My three coworkers who also ate there today? exact same thing! The food tasted off and none of us continued to eat it. It was very hot inside their store, our bowls were room temp when we got them, and just not like any poke i’ve ever had. I had called to discuss it and see if they could make it right because we all paid $20 or more a piece just to get sick. The woman I spoke to just kept telling me they were busy all day and we had to bring the bowls back so she could see what’s wrong. I explained we threw them away and could bring the trash if they were serious, but that it wouldn’t make sense. Offered to bring receipt. Explained multiple times that all of us were sick from it, and she continued to tell me it’s our bodies and not their food? All four of us have eaten poke and sushi raw at plenty of places with no issues, ever. Was so sick I had to wait in my car after work because I was too nauseous to make it home. They had great reviews so we trusted the place. Never again...
Read moreGreat food. HORRIBLE staff. I stopped coming for a while because of it, started back and still experience the same rude attitude or lack just general common courtesy from the employee who’s generally at the register. Again great food but service and attitude, is below bare minimum and I won’t patronize with a business that continues to show that they don’t value everyone.
UPDATE: staff calls (2x) after seeing review (not to apologize) to tell me in so few words tells that he in fact does treat me the way he does because “my mother and I always have orders that are too complicated for him and should do it the way he says”. MY MOTHER is deceased and has never eaten here & not even buried here and I just moved here a few months ago. So he admittedly treated me unkindly (when I’m nothing but polite because that’s how I want to be treated) because i obviously share the same skin tone/resemblance as...
