I ordered a large cookie cake online from Great American Cookies using one of their own designs, expecting it to look like the example, colourful and generously frosted, which was perfect since it was for a group of kids who love frosting.
When I picked it up, I was honestly shocked at how empty the cake looked. There were large places without any frosting, and the portions of the design just looked off. The decorative “grass” was just a small flat piping job around the edge rather than the detailed star-tip design shown in the image that goes up 1/3 of the cake, and it felt like minimal effort had gone into the overall decoration.
While they did accommodate my request to swap in some chocolate frosting for one of the colours of the design, the overall result was really disappointing. There wasn’t time to ask for a full re-do, so I just had them add some dots to try and salvage the look.

Just to mention we were never greeted or acknowledged. At this point I’m okay with that. Next a third employee comes from the back and helps another customer that came in behind us with ice cream as well. Still not acknowledged after we’ve been in your store for fifteen minutes at this point. Finally another customer comes in gets ice cream and then comes over and gets cookies in front of us. I’m very annoyed now but decide just to leave your store and never come back instead of making a scene over cookies. Ordered a cake from a gentleman, asked if we have to pay ahead and he told us no, said that we were going to be picking it up at a certain time to take to a party. Got a call with no voicemail around the time we were supposed to be picking it up. Didn't call back assuming the curtesy call was informing us our order was prepared. Arrived and got attitude from the manager telling us that she called once and left no message to see if we wanted it cause we didn't pay in advance. Clearly their policies aren't enforced so we sat and waited for the cake to be done and it put us further behind schedule. Communication and consistency issues need to be addressed...
