Dollar General — Local services in Spencer

If I could put no stars I would. Every time I go in only select people are greeted or even spoken too. I thought maybe the lady was just having a bad day so I tried to go in a few other times and every day she says nothing to certain ones like myself. She is mean and hateful. Huffs if you ask any questions. She tried to give me false information where I took her back and showed her it was wrong. Then yesterday she ignored my mom as we were at the register no hello no nothing but asked the person behind us how they were doing and if they found everything ok. How rude. Today my mom tried to use her phone number and she bypassed the phone number screen and my mom tried to tell her she was trying to type her number in and she said I don't know what to tell you very snippy. My mom then tried to present her coupon which she snatched out of her hand and told her all kinds of rude misinformation because she just didn't feel like doing her job. My mom than asked her name and TAMMIE threw her name tag at my mom it barley missed her and hit the floor. She is lucky we didn't call the police or share the recording. That is actually assault. This behavior is very unprofessional, hostile,rude, and uncalled for. Very very bad business. I was a daily shopper I will never again in my life shop there as long as she works there. I would rather drive out of town than be abused when spending my hard earned money there. We are the customers we make it to where she has a job and the store has business no one should be treated this way. I've never ever had a problem with this dg the workers have always been so sweet and nice and helpful. I work for a Television network. You never know the people coming in shopping who they are or are associated with.

I would give negative - 5 stars if it was an option. I was checking out with my child, and I have a special needs child. He had my phone so I could shop. My phone went dead, and when I went to pay, I could not unlock my debit card. I was unhappy. I had to put half my items back as well. The next time I went in, I had a cart full of items. The manager stood where I needed to go up and pay and was whispering to the male cashier. I got up there, and I smiled at her . She proceeded to ask if I had the money to pay for what was in my cart. I said yes. I was very embarrassed. My face felt red hot. But as I was checking out. I was asking the cashier questions. And he was rude. But I wanted to know if everyone was going to be asked if they were able to pay for their items. There was a woman and man behind me . The cashier said no. So I asked them if they were able to. The cashier asked me to leave. I did. And I turned and looked on my way to my car, and the cashier was flipping me and my 13 year old daughter off. Next time I went, I just had an arm full of things. And was in a hurry. The manager said I was no longer allowed in the store, and if I didn't leave immediately, she would call the police. I asked why, and she told me she didn't have to tell me. I felt profiled. The manager and staff was very rude and immature. As if a man flipping off my 13 year old daughter was...

It is not a clean store, at all, and I did price compare with Wal-Mart and found several prices higher at DG. How is that for a store with "Dollar" in its name? The staff were 1/2 friendly (workers) and 1/2 not-friendly (management). The manager, very unprofessionally, criticized and embarrassed the cashier in front of me. I read about their corporate and Dollar General really needs to go through their chain of command and do some retraining. I will say this for sure, if you only shop here because you think it's cheaper, think again. Two stars because the guy that checked me out was so nice.
