Chambers Restaurant (Chambers Smorgasbord) — Restaurant in Spencer

TL:DR - Under-seasoned food with an over-priced tag. I haven't been to Chamber's in over 10 years... and it remains exactly the same. Some people dislike change, some people embrace it. Currently, the former is the case for Chamber's Smorgasbord. Under seasoned food with an over-priced tag was the experience I received when dining here. Dinner on a Friday night for 2 adults cost almost $30 if you include a tip. I don't mind paying this price for a restaurant I know serves tasty food but this is not the case. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant seemed clean, hence the 2 star rating but the food was so very underwhelming. I had 1.5 plates which consisted of two chicken tenders, a fried drumstick, mashed potatoes, a jalapeno bite, and some potato salad. The chicken's texture and breading was quite good, it was tender as well. However, there was no taste. The mashed potatoes were quite salty and had the appearance of instant mashed potatoes. The potato salad was bland, all you could really taste was mayonnaise. In my opinion, this place needs to update it's menu and recipes as well as lower it's prices for the quality of food it serves. This restaurant caters to a very select age group of people. If you were alive when Jimmy Carter was President then this place is for you. If you have a palate that has a taste for more than just salt I highly recommend you avoid...

Will probably come back next time I am in town, just not for breakfast. Friendly wait staff. I ordered hash browns with onions, sausage, 2 soft scrambled. I got a hash brown patty with grilled onions on top...not quite what I envisioned. The eggs were hard. I am not complaining, I actually just sat back and laughed at my own stupidity. I am from the South, and totally different culture and life style. At home I would have sent is back. It struck me though, that it was my fault.

I should have asked because we eat very differently. We may call the food by the same name, but we do em differently. Next time I come in I will keep that in mind. Thanks for welcoming us into your establishment. Still...

I love a good buffet ! I've been to Chambers twice now . Everyone has their off days, I believe. My first experience, which was several months ago, was ok . The food was all fresh , clean , and pretty tasty. My second experience was just recently this week, and unfortunately, it wasn't what I was hoping for. The food was all pretty bland with no flavor . It was, however, in the lunch time, and there wasn't much business. The waitress was really attentive, so I will give her the credit she deserves. I may try it again sometime in the future, but I'm not sure . Only...
