This place is glorious, from the old architecture to the sheer volume of items inside their store. You want it? They are almost garuntee to have it, and lots of it too. The interior is actually more than one "room" (by room I mean cavernous ceilings and you go down a hall to get to the spinning half(yes I said half)). Open entering the door one can see the front desk. To the right is all your knitting or crochet paraphernalia, like needles, holders, and the like. Not books or patterns. There is a small room that is attached to the shop that you step up into and BAM! There it is. Inside to the left along the left wall. A ton of books like one wouldn't believe. There are couches which are in the far back corner. Before you get there you go past probably 8 aisles of just yarn. Once your eyes have adjusted to the glitter and glow of all the yarn for knitting and crocheting, you remember that the places carries spinning and weaving materials, right? Yes, they are there. Next to the couches in the big room is a hallway that goes upwards. Once you get up there, maybe you'll notice the big plastic tubs filled with yarn all labelled and sorted. Or perhaps you'll notice the rows of drop spindles hanging from the ceiling by their hooks? Once you walk a little further in, the tables on the right hold looms and carding machines. There are 10 spinning wheels on the floor. There is a wonderful woman flitting about ready to show you the wonders of everything there. Want to try a spinning wheel? She can show you the wonders of homespun yarn. She's very pursuasive so watch out! The sheer amount of product is staggering in both rooms and I really recommend a person take a solid two hours or more to really look through the place in detail. Two days spent there of doing nothing but learning was wonderful! Just FYI, there is a second set of couches for groups to knit on in the spinning room, it's a little hidden is all. They also have shopping carts for...
Read moreI have been in this store a couple different occasions, The first time I came in to see if additional bobbins could be found for my old trusty, no brand name castle spinning wheel. The craftsmen in the back were fabulous and made me two. 5 stars for that visit. Last week after doing some extensive research I decided it was time to consider a new, more versatile wheel. I had pretty much decided I wanted the Kromski Minstrel so I was going to be in Spokane, 87 miles from my home, and stopped by hoping to maybe take one home... I was the only customer in the store, there were 2 clerks at the counter visiting, I ask where I might look at the spinning wheels and I was promptly directed towards the back room "up a ramp". I fully expected someone would want to show me the wheels, and inquire what I was specifically looking for.... No, evidently not. I spent close to 10 min up there looking around and waiting for service that never came. They had an array of wheels sitting around, no brands or pricing posted, no obvious listing of any others etc.. On my way back down to the main floor I saw a small sign on a cluttered desk directing people to pick up the phone and dial 200 for service. I may of done that had the store had even 1 other customer in it, they didn't. Nor were there any signs of customers coming in as I left, I wasn't ask if I needed any assistance, or found what I was looking for, NOTHING but basically, "have a nice day". For this visit I won't even give 1 star. I came away so surprised and discouraged with the total lack of customer service I don't know that I will ever return. Am looking for a wheel elsewhere at this time. :( I love spending my money locally I am so disappointed with this experience... P.S. I spent many, many years working with the public, this is not how you build a positive...

Upon entering the store I was greeted by a friendly representative who was knitting behind the counter. She was happy to get up and show me the cotton yarn selection.
Then another very helpful person showed me the linen and silk. Very happy to see so many beautiful colors of linen yarn in stock.
Really surprised and thrilled how many people were available to show me around the space and help navigate the huge selection of yarn in the store even though it was busy and I was not the only customer. Time was of the essence because they were closing in 45 minutes.
The owner of the shop was experiencing high yield of eggs from his ducks and chickens and gave me a dozen eggs.
At some point my hands were full of yarn and eggs and another staff member showed up with a basket for my spools and eggs.
I found all the colors of linen I could use and it turns out there was a 10% discount for a local yarn store day, what a nice surprise.
When I got home and reviewed my receipt I noticed an error. The special yarn store day 10% discount had not been applied to my purchase.
The response to my email of inquiry regarding this charge discrepancy exceeded my expectations. Even though they were closed, they wrote back immediately and refunded the overcharge. The author of the email reply was friendly, acknowledged the error and repaired the problem quickly.
No hesitation here, I will definitely shop again at this lovely and friendly yarn store even though I live a...
