My mom and I don’t normally shop at this store, we frequent the Newport Highway store more. But nonetheless, we came here out of a matter of convenience to get a laptop for me because my battery shorted out on the old laptop. The technician who helped me and her find a laptop was nice. But then when we got to the cashier who rang us up, that’s when it all went downhill. My mom inquired about possible discounts that they offer, only to be rudely shut down by the cashier saying “The only reason you got a discount the last time at the Newport store is because you bought a lot.” Then… my mom’s card declines the first time (It’s a Capital One card so of course there’s security measures.), and because it declined, the cashier started laughing under his breath at my mom. So after she confirmed it was her using the card to buy me a laptop, it went through. Then, as we were unpacking the laptop box to put the laptop in my backpack, the cashier once again rudely interrupts by saying in the most condescending tone “You know if you take that out of the box you can’t return it.” As if my mom didn’t already know that. That’s why she brought an extra bag to put the box in just in case of any issues. My laptop works like a champ though. And the computer sales guy was nice. It’s just your cashier who needs either a new job or a lesson in customer service. Not to mention, the cashier did nothing to promote their rewards program and the benefits with it, which, from working any retail job it’s something they teach you, day one. Read moreI was coming down the aisle to find a sales associate on the floor, when I was approached by the manager, Richard. He offered to help me find the printer I have been desperately searching for, for months. Richard went over the top to help me look in every avenue he could to see if the product was available. AND fortunately for me Richard was able to locate the model I was searching for in ID. SO beyond excited, I told him I would drive down there immediately if he could put a hold on it. But instead took it upon himself to call the store to get it delivered to save me the drive. I was willing to pay for the shipping, because of the find!! I want to give him a HUGE shoutout for going the extra mile to help me locate this specific printer, and for the GREAT customer service he provided me! Richard was so helpful, and treated me with the utmost respect. I truly appreciate the moment he came up and offered his assistance. He has no idea what he just helped with, and I am so VERY thankful for the help he provided. Thank you Richard for assisting me, and locating the printer I've been searching for, for months now. Read moreI went in to Staples yesterday. I was polightly greeted and asked immediately If there was anything he could help me find. I seen two other patrons in the store and three employees. One employee was assisting another gentleman on the computer at the copy counter and another employee walked around the counter now facing me. He asked if he could help. I stated that I need 20 color copies. (neither copy machines behind the counter were being used) he pointed out the self serve copiers. I had bad luck with the self serve last time I was in so I stated, and the employee told me I'd have to come back tomorrow. I'm here to tell you now that I will not be back to this location and Office Depot on 3rd offers the same services.
