Extra Space Storage — Local services in Spring Hill

I have rated ExtraSpace Storage in Spring Hill with Five Stars for good reason. I am a self-described "expert" on local storage companies. How and why? Well for the last 8 years while living in Spring Hill I have already been a customer of three other storage facilities here and researched a number of others. I just moved out of two and now into only this one. Even as a long term good paying client my rates kept skyrocketing and their services (their end of the deal) kept declining. Okay then. Bye bye.

So this facility: It is one of the brand new ones. It's prices beat its competitors hands down. Access is easy. Security is high. The staff: Michael and Alyssa are exceptional. They are honest and up-front from the quoting process through the contract process. Having dealt mostly with Alyssa I found her to be knowledgeable and professional. Any employer would want an employee like her on their staff and as an example for employee training. Move-in was smooth. There are flat-bed carts available plus the place is air-conditioned to a very nice comfortable temperature. Other places say they are climate controlled and yet you sweat when you spend anytime inside. Not here. Another HUGE plus is that each unit has a ceiling mounted light that is motion controlled! They also have free available wi-fi. Another plus: when you rent space you want to be able to utilize as much height of your unit as possible and not be confined. Other new facilities here actually limit how high you can go. Be careful and make sure you don’t accidentally limit yourself. Another thing to watch out for in a storage facility: cell phone service. If you plan on spending time in or around your unit and using your phone for internet access is important to you (think streaming music, email, video, etc), make sure you check the facility's coverage before you move in. One new place I researched recently had zero Verizon coverage so that helped me determine to go elsewhere.

Hours of office operation include Saturdays, a very welcome service. Hours of facility access is about normal 6am-10pm.

The units utilize easy lift roll up doors. You can use either your own lock or purchase an extra secure type lock from the office whice fits perfectly in the latch of the door. With this type of lock a criminal can't use a bolt cutter to break the lock. Criminals don't have easy access but if they get someone's access code to the doors... same with passwords to your phone or computer. There are surveillance cameras so at least there's that too as a deterrent. I like the security feel of this place.

There's easy access from Commercial Way (Rt 19) from two entrances. One is their own entrance and then there's one from the access road to the side of and behind Golden Corral. The parking lots of both ESS and Golden Corral are connected. That made it easier for me to turn my vehicle around with a trailer attached. I'm not very skilled with a trailer. That ability to use both lots got me out of a tight jam more than once!

I usually don't do reviews but I felt like this time I needed too. Reason being is that everyone needs to know how absolutely amazing Extra Space Storage is. My sister and I needed to get a storage unit ASAP. After shopping around at many of the local facilities we chose to go with Extra Space Storage. They were by far the most affordable compared to all the rest. Not only that their customer service was outstanding. They explained everything to us and made sure we understood all the fees along with telling us that the current rates will definitely go up. I've had multiple units in the past that sell you on the special low price but they make it seem as if that rate will last forever which is deceiving because not everyone knows that storage rates go up after the special frequently. They were honest and very helpful about everything. I would give them way more then 5 stars if I could. They are the best in town no doubt about it. Don't even waste any of your time shopping around. I’m a new “tenant” so I will give you the skinny on what I know and think thus far. I was completely satisfied with the application/rental process. It was easy to do, even from out of town. They were more reasonable for a first floor unit, and to my happy surprise right next to the loading door, than there competitors were for a third level unit on the other side of the building’s elevator. Definitely a WIN! Once the online lease was finalized I immediately received my personalized gate/door code. Upon arrival Michael, I believe the onsite manager was extremely helpful walking me through the process, and came back a few minutes later to put the door on “automatic” to make the move in seamless. I rented a climate controlled unit, and was a bit concerned just what that would truly mean. I was thoroughly impressed both by the temperature and humidity level, and that’s saying something in our hot, muggy Florida summer.
