Hernando West Plaza — Local services in Spring Hill

This shopping plaza is one of the older ones in the area that traces its roots back to the founding of Spring Hill many decades ago. While the parking lot and buildings are maintained, it still feels very dated.

The Publix grocery store is the anchor for this plaza. It is in good condition, and I like it a lot, but it is dated. There are a number of other stores and restaurants in the plaza.

The parking can be a little tight, but it's not the worst in the area. The main fault to the whole shopping center is access. There is no direct access from US 19 and getting in and out can be a bit dodgy if you're not familiar with the layout. For example, don't expect to turn left out of the plaza onto...

China 1 was one of the worst Chinese food restaurants I have ever been to. It was Saturday evening, one of the busiest days of the week and they did not have any white rice. How can you be a Chinese restaurant and run out of white rice??? So they were going to give me fried rice instead, which was fine. But then they were too cheap to give me fried rice which is more expensive than white rice. They made me wait until the white rice was ready. I had ordered my food a half hour ahead of time so it would be ready. They made me late for work. Their ribs were meaty but had no sauce and no flavor and the chicken was chewy. I don't recommend...

Best laundry mat there is! Always come here because the employees are friendly, the place and restroom is clean, and they have big washers. Hate all the other customers though! Always folk(s) who want to "move in" and take over your table and cart when you're obviously using it and standing right there when there's plenty of empty tables and carts in the building. Every...
