First time I'd ever been in the store; I had seen they had the alternative covers of the Dungeon masters guide on their Facebook, so I wanted to stop in & snag one if I could.
It's a large store both in depth & width. There are tables set up in the front with a TV hung up playing various videos related to the hobby. When I was in, there was a 40k match being played on the TV. Main building/room is packed full of anything your tabletop nerd-self may need or want. I was on a tighter schedule, so i only briefly looked around. A majority of the left side wall is 40k sets/packs. Finding anything else was some what of difficult for first timers, but I managed.
Light was okay, though for how full the building is, the deeper in you go the darker it seems to get. Which definitely made it seem more claustrophobic than it already was. This could be remedied by removing one row of tables and spreading the shelves out.
When I walked in I was greeted, But for the rest of the time I was left to fend for myself; for me, i don't mind, but others may. The whole "vibe" I got felt some what unwelcoming, almost as if they didn't recognize me and therefore didn't care. All in all, ill be back in I'm sure, definitely interested in what...
Read moreThis is the best place in town to get high-quality card sleeves and prices are competitive to online. They have dragon shield and game-specific sleeves that rotate through. Sometimes some very cool and unique options. I can't help but to check the sleeves section every visit.
For TCG players and collectors, it's like being in a candy shop. They have so many cool games to explore... The big ones, and all sorts of lesser-known games like Akora and Metazoo. Some of their TCG prices can high sometimes, but that is very standard for game shops in my experience, so I don't really hold that against them too much. They do have a great setup for playing as well, with a whole separate room as well as tables in the shop area. And we have always felt welcome either by ourselves or with our kid (family friendly!)
If you like paints and other collectibles, they also have tons. The overall selection at this place is vast! All-in-all I love this shop and I've always had friendly encounters with the...
Read moreI've been looking for a particular Black Library book for a while and anyone who is familiar with GW knows they never print enough and the prices ended up gouged. Anyway- by random chance I stumbled across a copy on the 217 webstore and took a chance. It just came in, amazing fast shipping and service! It was also below cost of what I've been seeing the book for- they kept it at msrp which is super classy.
I know the challenges of running a FLGS, trying to build and maintain and awesome community.... and keep your doors open. I run (not the owner) a FLGS in another state so I support stores whenever I can. I'm hoping if I'm ever in the area I can stop by but if not I will definitely be checking out the shop online and recommending others.
I just want to thank you again. I am so excited for this book and really like having hard copies for my collection as well as it being difficult for me to read digital copies. Know the book will have a cozy spot on my AoS shelf now and...
