I found the place to be a typical Chinese restaurant one would find in just about any neighborhood. The decor of this place seemed a bit outdated but by no means torn or tattered. This place appears as if it does more takeout business rather than sit down service. For the most part I like my food. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was how much sesame sauce came with my beef. For me, it was over kill. However, everything was fresh and severed hot. I would return again but maybe just for takeout rather than dinning in.

Food was okay, pretty typical for an asian food place. The service was friendly and quick. The prices were reasonable. There was a lot to choose from on the menu. The lunch meal comes with soup and choice of an egg roll or crab rangoon, plus is discounted. Place wasn't busy at all. Really laid back. I think I would need another couple visits to try more off the menu to give a valid review.

Very happy with the service here. I only ordered some friend rice for me and my girlfriend and it was ready within 10 minutes. The food was amazing and when I came in I was surprised to see such a beautifully furnished interior. I can't wait to come back here to enjoy a meal straight from the kitchen. Also you get a lot of food for what you pay for.

My husband and I ordered from Tai Pan this evening as we do every few months. My husband ordered Tangy Treasure without vegetable as he needed a change. The last few times he ordered it they only filled half the container up. So upon my ordering it I specifically stated that the last few times the container has only been half full that I am requesting the box be filled this time. She said ok and moved on with my order. Upon arriving to pick up our order we were greeted by the young gentleman who gave us our total of $43.00. I handed him my card, he then proceeds to say "I see you requested your box be full of tangy treasure but we can't do that." The lady interjects and stated it's too expensive to fill the box all the way up. My husband then said that they should have told us that on the phone so that he had the option to order something else. It was a back and forth disagreement for a few moments until my husband finally said to just take it off the bill. So they did and it dropped my bill to 26 bucks. So you are telling me that taking off one item that was half full was an additional 18 bucks? and that you choose not to fill the box because its too expensive???? Seriously misleading and over price. WE WILL NOT go back with that...

I have been going to type in for almost 10 years and this has been my 2 worst experiences ever. Taipan food has fallen to zero. it does not taste right and it is not the same as it used to be. You are no longer served beef fried rice that is made of brown rice it is now made of yellow rice and it tastes horrible and greasy with no flavor and they no longer put vegetables or enough need in it. They charge $10.15 for the large beef fried rice and it has about six maybe seven very small pieces of meat and oily rice with no flavor. Also the large shrimp fried rice is $10.15 and it has no flavor and no vegetables and it's made with yellow rice that is oily. It's the young people who are now running Taipan now whom are making bad food choices. I will no longer go there. Even the lunch specials sweet and sour chicken the rice is the same it's horrible in the chicken is overcooked you can't even eat it. Their standards have dropped with me I used to rate this restaurant a 9 but now it is a -1 I'm so disappointed for a place that I...

We arrived upon the family having a meal in the foyer and they greeted us with warm smiles and a nice “booth or table?”. I said “booth please”. She took us to the booth and we sat down, we looked over the extensive menu and decided upon a nice dumpling entre with some crab Rangoon. As we waited for our entree we discussed the snow and the upcoming super bowl. The dumplings were simply sumptuous along with sauce they combined for an explosion of taste. The Rangoon on the other hand was perfectly crunchy and the crab was obviously fresh. The mains came out my my pallet was instantly wet, i could hardly contain my excitement for this meal i was about to devour. The sweet and sour tastes of china filled my mouth like air in a balloon and i was instantly transported to down town beijing. The perfect amount of spice. I was in heaven. The check came and i and my bank account were surprised with how affordable it was. Would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone near Illinios lovely service...
