My experience with Brian was eye-opening and very interesting. First off, my car broke down immediately upon arrival in Springfield. I was not able to maintain my appointment, so I contacted him, half-jokingly, if he could come save me. Not only did he do that, but Brian's competent technician helped me to get my 53-year-old Rolex case opened back up, after months of me trying with various cheap plastic case back tools. Top tier service, friendliest and most welcoming man, exceptional human being, and on top of all those superlatives very passionate about watches, especially with a shared interest in mechanical/automatic movements. This watch enthusiast's passion shines in his hosting this upcoming March the Watch Wonders of the Midwest exhibition. He shared further that there is a connection he has access to the president of the current (in my opinion) best entry level automatics on the market - San Martin, found all around AliExpress and Temu (made in China) yet renowned for quality at an exceptional price point, somewhere around $250-350 per watch depending on complications. I think the San Martin GMT is the most accurately machined (including bracelet) of my collection, wears very honestly on my wrist and holds time like any comparable entry level Swiss counterpart. Brian is actively looking to assist the San Martin brand in handling watch repair, a huge deal for the only watch repair shop in midstate Illinois, striving to bring in-house the specializations that allow for the repair of just about any movements with enough technician knowledge.
