My mom needed to return something she got as a gift. Then walked around to get something because they gave her a gift card. When up at the register they could not get the gift card to work. After 20 m8nutes of trying they called customer service hotline. They said the card was activated. Kept trying the card they issued 45 minutrs earlier. After 30 minutes they tried calling a manager. No one answer. Finally after 40 minutes of standing at the register my mother said i figured out the difference on what i owe i am leabing. We got things to do. They kept apologizing but that was it. I said this is completely ridiculous. Both cashiers said we are sorry we nern having technical issues. I said you always have issues everytime I come in here. The one said no we don't. I said yes you do and that's why i don't shop and we will not shop here again. We are leaving. No customer service at all. Staff very rude. Stopped in to get thread because Micheal's is the only store in town to carry it. I need more then what was on the shelf. The guy in framing was with a customer and was extremely rude with anout how his jersey was framed. The customer did not like the frame job and all the associate kept saying that how we do it. The customer told you guys are the only ones that do it that. I walked by it looked horrible for being supposedly professionally done. Could not find help and when I did the three girls worry talking about friends being there wives. Got up by the registered to leave and the two up there were just chit chatting. Read moreMy home away from home. Even though this is a small Michael's, it usually has just what I need it something close enough to it. Every time I need something, I know I'll be met with friendly faces and conversation.
The thing I learned about Michael's is that they don't order their inventory. So when they would run out of my regular purchases, it wouldn't get stocked right away (and actually, some of it has not been restocked at all in a year so far). So the frustration is NOT towards the store staff. There are no order forms, corporate sends them orders. The focus is on seasonal items. So when you go in, and you see something low or out, your best bet is to go on their website and order it there. Don't wait around for it to be restocked. Also, give the employees grace on that too.

The staff is friendly and helpful and knows where basically everything is (stores rearrange sometimes and everyone needs to relearn where things are when they do but they do their best to find it!!) I wish they stocked microbeads and such BUT their not having one type of item isn't that big a deal when they've got massive stock of so many others. I could craft for years on end and always have something new to make just shopping with them. They also have CLASSES!
