I’ve been a loyal customer of Good Day Farms for a long time. I’m the general manager of Vino STL, a wine bar just down the street. I come here all the time, I send customers here, and the staff knows me. I’ve always had a routine! Grab my Panera next door, then pop in for a joint. It’s never been an issue until today.
I parked in the lot like I always do. I went into Panera first to grab my food, dropped it in my car, and then went straight into Good Day Farms. Within minutes, my car was booted. I was immediately approached and told I had to pay $400 in cash or Zelle, no receipt, no warning, no other option. They said I had 30 minutes to pay or it would be towed for $1500, plus $80/day starting immediately.
In a panic, I went inside Good Day Farms to get help…and was shocked when the front desk woman I’ve seen and spoken with dozens of times acted like she had never seen me in her life. I was nearly in tears. I told her I come here all the time, told her what just happened, and all she did was deflect and compliment my tattoos. It was humiliating. I pulled $400 out of the ATM and handed it over to avoid getting towed.
When I got back to my restaurant, one of my friends who owns a tow company told me I got scammed. This isn’t standard procedure! This is predatory, intimidating, and possibly illegal.
I drove back 20 minutes later and saw four more cars booted. These guys are hitting multiple people every 30 minutes.,, do the math. If they’re charging $400–$500 per person, that’s thousands of dollars every hour. And it’s happening during a time when this entire area is recovering from back-to-back storms, including a tornado.
If Good Day Farms is partnered with this company (and I believe they are) then you’re enabling and profiting from the harassment and exploitation of your own customers. There were no warnings. No courtesy. No understanding. Just intimidation, threats, and a demand for immediate cash or Zelle with no receipts. The company doesn’t appear to have any tow license, and the signage in the lot is vague and suspicious.
Whether it’s legal or not… it’s wrong! It’s exploitative. And I won’t be back until this is made right. Good Day Farms should be ashamed for allowing this to happen on their property.
On top of everything, it looks like the company that towed me put duct tape over the original signage in the lot.., which makes this whole operation feel even more shady...
Read moreThis place has a predatory towing company working for them. My girlfriend and I are new to shopping at dispensaries and came to CWE to avoid going anywhere sketchy. Since we don't come to this area often we decided to use the opportunity to get takeout from a Cuban restaurant down the street on Euclid. We put our food in the car and started heading back toward the dispensary, and I watched the guy exit his tow truck and approach my car. The dispensary has the tow company watching on camera and a guy sitting on the street so apparently they saw us put the bags in the car and walk back toward the shop and I guess that's the perfect opportunity. Although based on other reviews, it sounds like they'll do it even if someone's inside the car.
Once I realized he was coming to my car I ran back trying to get the guy's attention. I'm sure he heard me but the goal is to get the boot on as fast as possible so obviously he's not going to listen. I explained the situation, but again, the point is to make money so the situation doesn't matter. I've never had my car booted before so I expected to pay $75 or $150, but nope - $400. That should be illegal. They only take cash or Zelle, probably because there's no way to dispute those forms of payment.
I called the company, and they told me they work for the shop and have no authority to remove the boot unless I pay the $400. I said I'd go in and talk to the shop to which he said the same thing: you don't just have to be a customer, you have to go to the dispensary first, then leave. If you go anywhere else before or after, you get towed. The tow trucker pointed out 3 boots he already had stacked up and bragged they were from that day, and it was only probably 3pm. So I'm sure this is a nice second income for the shop.
Who knows if their products are any good. I never made it inside and I'd rather shop in the north and risk getting shanked than get robbed by the place I'm shopping. But we didn't have to, we went to Swade Dispensary just 5 minutes away in the Grove and they were polite and welcoming even though we were both pretty shaken up and frustrated. I could not recommend...
Read moreI cannot believe that I pulled onto the Good Day Farm Dispensary parking lot in order to patronize their business, walked across the street in order to leave a package at the doctors office regarding my mother’s health (less than 2-3 minutes), crossed back across the street and there was a boot on my car. This happened literally in 2-3 minutes. I explained to the parking lot attendant that I was a Good Day customer and was told that I should have went in there first. I called in to alert management of what had happened, and that I am a multiple-time repeat customer, and was told by Cameron, the manager, that they are partnered with the tow company but that there was nothing he could do about it even though I was on my way inside. I am now being extorted for $200 in order to have the boot taken off my car. This is a nightmare. This is the slimiest form of extortion, and pure bottom feeder behavior. I read the reviews here that other people have been faced with this nightmare, and the company keeps saying that they must do something about it. But here it is months later, and nothing is yet to be done. Also, the price for having the boot removed seems to be anywhere between $200 - $500!! It seems like Good Day Farms is benefitting more off of their parking lot extortion scam than they are selling their actual product. They do this all day, and are making thousands a day from strong arming their customer base. And, at a time like this, economically, they are intentionally hurting hurt people without a care in the world… I swear DO NOT patronize this place if you know what’s good for you. They do not care at all about their customers. It is a major money grab and I am so disappointed that I ever thought to come here. There are better places to go to and I will be posting about them on all of my social media to put the word out, urging everyone in my network to take their money elsewhere. This place is the worst. If I could give 0...
