Great Clips — Local services in St. Louis

I called the other day to attempt to set up an appointment. I was told that they only do walk-ins, okay that's not a big deal I work close by so I can come after work.

When I asked if any of their technicians were proficient at cutting curly hair, they said we don't do styles....okay? I responded, no my hair is already curly, and I want a bob. Oh no no..we don't do styles. Okay? What do you do then?, Oh we just give a regular haircut. What's a regular haircut?, You know like layers, we can cut it short, we can cut it long... so you can cut it in a style then? No, no styles just a simple haircut. So you're a barbershop? No we don't line up, we don't do anything special, just a regular haircut.

I still have no idea what this lady was talking about, how can you be a salon but you don't do any styles of haircuts? I quickly moved on to a different salon.

Difference between a barber shop and a salon, is usually that barber shops cater to men and they do short haircuts with linings and things of that nature, the point of a salon is to cut your hair in a particular style that's why it cost more. What a regular haircut means I have absolutely no idea? I would avoid this place. A barber shop that can't do linings or fades, and a salon that can't do a style, is it worthless place to...

I just had a horrible experience at this location. Completely different from my first experience. First, I walked in and you can feel the grim Reaper in the room. I was given the driest greeting from a women with short purple hair, you can tell immediately she didn't want to be there. She was mid conversation with another stylist about scheduling problems. I was called up by the "stylist" who cut my hair, (who by the way smelt like she just smoke an entire pack of cigarettes) I told her what I normal get. She immediately begins to buzz me I was in the chair no longer the 8mins before she try's sending me on my way without even blending my hair. I had hash buzzer lines. I get a 1 on my sideburns 2 on my sides normally and today it looks horrible plus the longer hair from the top side of my head wasn't even trimmed in the buzzed 2 portion. The stylist then grabbed another smaller buzzer when I pointed this out. I stopped her immediately because you cannot blend Long hair into short hair with a buzzer. Who is the Professional stylist here? You can tell they just wanted to get out of there and don't care about your hair. It sad because the first women who cut my hair there was wonderful! That's why I went back but after today...

I had a terrible experience at this Great Clips. When I arrived I only waited about 3 minutes then I was greeted . P.S. I am a African American woman she took a look at my hair. I told here that I have thinning hair on the side but my hair on top if fuller. I let her know that I wash and blow dry my hair straight and that's it. But as my hair is a different texture the weather elements make it hard to contain. then sprayed a product and attempted to cut my hair. She then ask if i could go and flat iron my hair and wash my hair. I told her I already wash and blow dried my hiar. However I agree again to blow dry my hair. Fast forward I pressed my hiar came back sat in the chair and she replied by said did you flat iron it? I told her i pressed it with a hot comb. She sounded very ignorant. She cut my hair which looks like she was trying to rush and get done. I was so disappointed. Never will i come back. She then told me to invest in a good flat iron...
