We ordered a "little" of everything - ra-bap, rice crispy chicken, wings, and drumsticks (+ fries). First of all - THE PORTIONS!!! They are huge! We knew we would have leftovers but we will be eating on it all week! The drumsticks are very large and the wings are much bigger than what you'd get from a chain. Both were very flavorful and tender. The spicy soy flavor is not for the faint of heart - the heat builds up over time and you definitely need their vinegar-based slaw to cool off (comes with the combo). You also get fries with the combo meals, and they were surprisingly delicious! I have never had cheese with a Korean rice dish, so that was a nice surprise in the ra-bap. We did ask for a side of standard oy sauce for this dish. After eating the super flavorful wings, the rice dish just needed a little salt boost. The crispy chicken tenders were very good! Crunchy and light!
Some extra notes: -I believe they are still adjusting to dine-in service and are more used to supporting deliveries, but once we all got in the swing of things, everything was great and the server was awesome! -They don't have a liquor license yet and is BYOB for now. -There were 2 small TVs above the bar with NFL games on. There was a larger TV in the dining area, but it was playing music videos. I am not sure if that TV isn't able to get cable or if no one asked to change the channel. Either way, it was nice to have the TVs above the bar. -No outdoor dining available (yet?), but I read they plan to add a few tables...
Read moreI love food & respect small business. I understand the impact of bad reviews, but, I've got to be honest, this was the worst $40 I've spent in a minute.
1st, we sat down and it took 10 minutes before anyone came to see us. It wasn't busy, maybe a couple folks inside and a handful of to-go orders.
We finally were able to place our order. We ordered 3 items for dinner. It took another 15-20 minutes after ordering to receive 2 out of 3 of items of our simple order of rice, potstickers and boneless chicken bites. At this point there was only one other couple within the restaurant.
Why cheese on potstickers? And the amount of mayo on top was absurd.
It took another 15 minutes to receive the fried boneless chicken bites. In fact. Folks that ordered before us got their bone in chicken first? Once we received it, it was oddly not hot and was WILDLY OVERCOOKED. We're talking lil' chicken nuggets that should have only been fried for 3-4 minutes that were absolutely hammered.
The hot garlic sauce was insanely garlicky. I love garlic. This was overwhelming, overpowering and absolutely blew our paletes. An uncalled for amount of garlic.
The service was subpar at best and the food had no...
Read moreThis place is putting out some delicious Korean fried chicken. The chicken is crispy, juicy and delicious. The various sauce options are tasty that range from traditional Korean fried chicken to honey soy. The French fries were hot and crispy. The order of tteokboki was huge and full of sausages and rice cakes and a flavorful sauce. I love the added melty cheese on top. The corn dog is like nothing you've ever had in the states. It's similar to an American corn dog except for that after it's fried it is dusted and sugar and covered in ketchup. I know that sounds strange but trust me when I say it works. It's very reminiscent of carnival food. The only obstacle was that they are working with a skeleton crew. The kitchen seemed very overwhelmed when I was there. It took a long time to get our order but I think they'll get that figured out. Here's to hoping they add some kimbap to the menu along with Budae Jjigae. Very happy to have this local family owned business and our neck...
